What Did Ya'll Think Kerry's Speech?

I got goosebumps when he was talking about the flag. I am really proud of him.

3. It was a great speech, BUT - he stepped on too many of his applause

lines.

It was a long speech, and I think he could have cut some of it down to allow room for the audience to cheer his remarks. Clinton is the master of this little trick. Notice how Clinton seldom if ever has to repeat the first words of a new sentence coming out of a burst of applause because he allows time for the audience to react and relax. Kerry obviously wanted to move things along and get it all in, so he had to jump on re-entry lines too often. In a hall it doesn't matter, but on TV it looks rushed.

Still, I'd give Kerry a B+ to A- on overall delivery and an A on content.

I liked that he came down through the crowd and then bounded up on stage.

5. Wooooo!

I just HAD to go online and find somewhere to hang out and chat. I was SO excited! I still am! I can't sleep. It was a great speech. V. inspirational. And, for me, hanging out in a neighbor's living room watching it with 30 other people, here in Dallas, Texas, really made me realize that I am not alone. There were cheers and applause -- it was truly heartening. I would like to see us take back Texas. And I think we can do it! (or at least, Dallas county!)

here's my favorite anti-Shrub tidbit of news for the day, from Yahoo news.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A campaign worker for President Bush (news - web sites) said on Thursday American workers unhappy with low-quality jobs should find new ones -- or pop a Prozac to make themselves feel better.

"Why don't they get new jobs if they're unhappy -- or go on Prozac?" said Susan Sheybani, an assistant to Bush campaign spokesman Terry Holt.


The comment was apparently directed to a colleague who was transferring a phone call from a reporter asking about job quality, and who overheard the remark.


When told the Prozac comment had been overheard, Sheybani said: "Oh, I was just kidding."


While recent employment growth has buoyed Bush's economic record, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) has argued the new jobs are not as good as those lost due to outsourcing in recent years.


Nearly 1.1 million jobs have been lost since Bush took office in January 2001.

10. No retreat, no surrender!

He delivered!! Wow it was totally exciting. Yes it wasn't perfect, he did step on some of his applause, but he was relaxed, sincere and the speech was great. I loved the way he turned around all those issues.


Kerry:

" And I will appoint an Attorney General who actually upholds the Constitution of the United States."

"That flag doesn't belong to any president. It doesn't belong to any ideology and it doesn't belong to any political party. It belongs to all the American people."

"You don't value families by kicking kids out of after school programs and taking cops off our streets, so that Enron can get another tax break."
