What Was The First Convention That You Remember?
Actually, this was done on one of the main Boards, but I'd really like to hear from all of the Texan DUers.

Mine was the 1956 Republican Convention. I was 7 years old. Even though my parents were pretty loyal Democrats, I think they were for Ike. Of course, lots of people were for Ike.

2. Everett Dirkson
I only remember seeing him on TV when I was about 8 or so and being absolutely mesmerized. I don't even know if it was a convention.

3. 1964 LBJ nomination
I was 10 years old. That's the convention that gave me the political bug. I was fascinated and wanted to one day attend a DNC.

campaign. I was 5 and all I remember was my brass-collared, yellow-dog Democrat parents teaching me to say, "No likey Ikey!"
