3. Yes, it was incredible!

Imagine a club packed to the gills with people like it might be for the World Series, everybody glued to the TVs and the big screen outside. Watching C-SPAN! Several hundred folks cheering on Big John as he lofts one out of the park.

Grassroots people are really coming out this year. Both the Austin4Kerry and Democracy for Texas are getting 150-200 people at their meetups, braving the summer heat to be fired up by passionate speakers like Kirk Watson and David Van Os. We'll see how high we can get the blue tide this year.

2. Just moved from Austin, my hometown

Moved to Oregon to attend law school. Your photo made me homesick! :(

However, I do like it here. The weather is fabulous. It's in the 80s during the day. Everyone else is melting, but we're frolicking around the house with the windows open. I'm sure it will be a different tune when winter rolls around...

Great turnout! So glad to see all the support. I thought the speech rocked.

The AAS story says we had 300-400 people there at Mother Egan's. It sure seemed like a whole lot more to me.

Based on television ratings, Americans were more interested in what John Kerry had to say in his nomination acceptance speech than they were for Al Gore in 2000.

An estimated 24.4 million viewers watched Kerry's speech on the six biggest networks Thursday night, compared to 21.1 million people who saw Gore four years earlier, Nielsen Media Research reported on Friday.
