Bob Perry of Perry Homes, Kerry attack ads and the Bush link
The homebuilders in Texas run Texas. Bob Perry who was recently revealed as one of the top contributors of the swift boat attack machine against Kerry, was also one of the top Bush donors. Here is some tidbits for you:

1) Perry also contributed $500,000 to Governor Rick Perry (no relation) campaign who is a tort reformer like Bush.

2) Rick Perry appointed Bob Perry's VP and chief legal counsel to the Texas Builders Commission which oversees builders such as Perry Homes.

3) Bob J. Perry of Perry Homes donated $90,000 to Texas for Lawsuit Reform (tort reform group) and  $912,500 total for 2000 elections. TLR had donated millions into Bush and other republicans.

4) Perry and his tort reformers have pretty much written themselves out of Texas law. You cant sue them, instead must submit to arbitration, and they are controlled by the Builders Commission with Perry's VP as the Commissioner. Our deceptive trade practice law does not apply to builders.

How do I know this stuff? I am a consumer advocate for new homebuyers with a construction defect. Homeowners are powerless in Texas against the builders.

1. Hearing the horror stories from..
homebuyers is what made me decide to buy a house from someone who built it himself.

3. Yep. Perry basically builds McMansions and runs away
His handiwork is all over the suburbs of northern Dallas.

Want to get affordable insurance on these homes? HAHAHAHA!

4. John you are so right about this nightmare
This stuff comes back to haunt us more and more each day. Prop 12 was nothing more than a corporate criminal protection act. The homeowners and consumers were and are being ripped off big time. And what they can do in Texas to screw the people over, they take national. It's like Texas is the testing ground.

Take a look at this money link for Texas 2002. It will make you angrier. He owns more than Rick Perry, he owns the Texas Legislature and the Attorney General.
