ok, i know this may sound stupid but...... theres this sign right near my house, on Royal lane, that is VERY offensive. The sign says "flush the johns" and they have 2 toiletes, one with "kerry" on it and the other with "edwards" i got so pissed. Tonight i was gonna go take it, or do something to it, but i chickened out. I need someone to be my partner. This is attrocious and needs to be dealt with. We need to become thugs just like the republicans.
anyone interested?

1. Yup, you're going to become just like the... |
|
... Repugs. And then what? Make the same excuses they do? If you become like them, you're one of them.
Why not put up an opposing sign of your own?

You have no rights to their property or to deny their right to self-expression, political or otherwise.
Put up your own sign, on your own property, to counter it.

They can file a civil suit against you for violation of their civil rights.
They can file criminal misdemeanor charges against you for trespassing.
Put up your own sign, on your own property, and for heaven's sake, stop thinking you know the law.

7. royal lane has a high traffic count |

Also lots of cops. And lots of republicans looking out their windows for terraists in the yard.
Don't be overly zealous and risk a trip downtown to the lou steritt justice center, aka the jail.
If the sign is on the public right of way, it's fair game. Pete Sessions(r) was recently observed by the police removing Frost(d) signs in the district #32 race. Sessions took a walk.
If the sign is on private residential property and you cannot control your outrage - beware of booby-traps (silver greasy paint is a current favorite) and if apprended you might be looking at a class C misdimeanor - something along the lines of theft under $50 or vandalism, and maybe about an inch of type in the dallas morning news metro section if you have a good press agent.
Don't worry too much about trespassing charges. In Texas you get a free pass, served in the form of a notice of trespass on the first offense. Second time, if you are on the trespass list, it's jail, no questions asked.
Here's a possible loophole, most cities in Texas, have an easement for the first four feet from the curb. Is the "two johns' signage on Royal Lane within four feet of the curb? If you have about $40,000 lying around this could be a fun court case.
All levity aside, have a bad feeling about this sign - political advertising and personal expression have maybe hit a new low. Such a sign would definately piss me off and it would go on the fantasy shit list.
Wonder how long before Pat Peale's minions pass out a 100 of these in my little county in north central Texas?
Better to start working on a letter to the editor.

this thread at best is advocating destruction of property and against DU policy.
