Looks like we won't be coming to Austin after all.

My wife and I were planning a trip to Austin for a workshop at the LBJ library at the end of this month and were going to try to get together with some DUers then.

For those of you whou have been following my ocular saga in the Lounge, you know that I have had surgery on my left eye to reattach the retina. I won't be able to use my left eye for anothe month or so. We have decided to cancel our trip ...sorry.

The worst part of the surgery was that we have to go to Dallas every week. The air conditioning is out in our truck, and that can get pretty hot.

The other day on the day down there as we passed under the ***Turnpike, I called it the War Criminal Turnpike. The windows were down (obviously, see above) and my wife thought I said Walter Krinkle Turnpike, so that is what we sall it now. LOL

sorry about the typos. I'm only using my right wing eye :rofl:

1. About that hot truck -

Freeze some ziplock bags of water, or use those blue ice things and take them and some small towels in a cooler to use to keep from getting too hot.

I always have some with me in case I break down with dogs in the car.

Poor dogs are wearing fur coats.

We could use some rain up here on the Trinity river, but it looks like we won't get any.:shrug:
