Tankursley said she voted for Hillary Clinton in the primary.
“I think she is a very smart woman,” Tankursley said.
When Clinton failed to win her party’s nomination, Tankursley said she was unsure about Obama.
“Who is this man?” she recalled saying.
She was concerned, too, that, because of the economy, this was becoming one of the most important elections in a long time.
For a while, she was leaning toward voting for McCain, she said.
She stayed up late to watch all the debates, but changed her mind about McCain after he asked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate.
“It’s the one thing he did wrong,” Tankursley said. “She’s not an asset to the ticket – it’s her attitude.”
