1. My office is closed today, too.
It sucks in Grayson county. 25 degrees, 1/4 inches of ice. Getting worse by the moment.

2. Possibly going to be " worst ice storm in nearly six years. "
Crap. Those of us that have been here for that long (and longer, in my case)know that says a lot.

Forecasters are saying that the ice will continue to accumulate all night and into Wednesday morning.

How bad could it get?

The forecast calls for as much as a third of an inch of ice accumulation in Dallas and Tarrant counties. That could make this the worst ice storm in nearly six years.

Freezing rain possible as early as this evening

Temperatures have already dipped into the 40s here in Austin and it’s possible that freezing rain could start falling in the area as early as this evening around rush hour, according to Bob Rose, a meteorologist with the Lower Colorado River Authority.

Rose said that temperatures as of 12:30 were in the low 40s at Camp Mabry and Austin Bergstrom-International Airport. Several flights were canceled or delayed due to weather, so anyone traveling this afternoon should check the airport website at: http://www.abia.org/

North and West of Austin, temperatures are in the 30s: In Georgetown, it’s already 37 degrees and it’s 35 degrees in Burnet. "There’s just been a trace of rain throughout the area," he said.

We need rain badly and I'd like more rain but the freezing part we could do without. :eyes:

Bundle up and drive slowly!

Sonia
