depressed as hell after getting a telephone town hall meeting
call from my congressperson.

She didn't depress me as much as the callers. It was like listening to a rehash of Faux News talking points, with a little Freeper thrown in for good measure.

Like the Medicare insured man who says a gov't run health plan is 'Socialism bordering on Communism'

I realize the over 70 set is more askeered of communism and socialism than younger generations, and she was calling in my neighborhood which is still heavily dominated by the over 70 set. But it was still depressing.

I was dialed into the call when it was already in progress, and they did not get to me before she closed it down but I did some listening.

And now I have a headache, from pressing the telephone into the side of my head and aggravating the TMJ. I guess I was really pissed off to press that handset into my head like that.

ONE constituent talked for a long time in a good way about the public option. Sensible man, that, and I would have backed him up if I had gotten to speak. I did leave a message on the recorder though.

It must suck to be getting older and weaker and feeling so helpless that you believe all that sensationalistic garbage from Faux news and Rush

1. which congressperson?
Also do not misunderestimate the potential cognitive decline and prejudice of the Medicare-insured person you mentioned. Don't know about pre-existing ignorance overall either.

2. Kay Grainger Fort Worth. and to think we used to have JIm Wright.
and you are right about the congitive decline aspect. I witnessed that in my own mother, a fine FDR/JFK Democrat her entire life.
