1. One more thing, Austinites be ready.........

according to the rules, Rick is suppose to be able to name his own replacement to fill his term as State Representative, while he is serving in Afghanistan.

Personally, watching all the manuverings going on after the last election results, I don't trust the Repuke majority to allow Melissa to be seated without a fight. I haven't heard anything yet, but this fundraiser has me wondering what might be in the wind.

Rodney and Licia are holding fundraisers in their home Sunday for Hubert Vo, Monday for Senator Leticia Van De Putte and Tuesday for Senator Eliot Shapleigh.

Rodney is quite the entertainer, lol. Last year when we had the anti-redistricting march, he opened his Austin office with refreshments and every year, he hosts a Christmas party (Dec 14, gang, bring Christmas toys) and he and Congressman Chris Bell held a great beer, crawfish and zydeco party during the State Democratic Convention.

2. How involved are the Tejano Dems

I haven't heard anything on the East End. I guess the selected few in Houston's East End are aware he is still serving in Afghanistan. It is do bad, Rick has done a lot for Houston's East End, I hope Melissa can continue his work.
