Lon Burnam is suing Tom Delay and needs to raise $$$ in this effort
see this copy of email I just received:

From: Rose Lynn and Jeff
Sent: Saturday, December 04, 2004 10:01 PM
To: Undisclosed-Recipient:;
Subject: Lon Burnam vs. Tom DeLay

Lon Burnam has a lawsuit against Tom DeLay and needs to raise big bucks before December 11th to keep this lawsuit happening. I know everyone is tired and discouraged, and has given more than ever before....but it is not over....

Please help Lon fight for us all....

Here is an excerpt from his website, www.LonBurnam.com :

"It is clearer than ever that Texas Republicans have adopted a “take no prisoners” or “scorched earth” campaign to disenfranchise voters through gerrymandering and rules manipulation that undermines the democracy we all love.
But the battle is not over...
Last month the US House Ethics committee admonished DeLay. Shortly after that I subpoenaed DeLay as a material witness to important questions of fact that are key to the resolution of legal issues in my year and a half old case against the Department of Public Safety.
My lawsuit claims the following: DPS illegally destroyed documents and used public funds for partisan purposes in tracking down and attempting to prevent elected state representatives from using Texas House Rules in the redistricting battle. Discovery thus far indicates that officials at the highest levels of state and national government were involved in this abuse.
Please join me in holding Tom DeLay accountable for his abuse of power. Sustaining this lawsuit will involve numerous other high profile witnesses and present considerable cost to me, as it will come out of my campaign account.
The deadline is December 11 for members of the legislature to accept campaign contributions before the session begins. Before that deadline, I need to raise $100,000 to cover the potential cost of litigation over the course of the legislative session. Your generous support now will help sustain my litigation during the coming six months in which I am precluded by law from fundraising. "

Checks can be mailed to :

Lon Burnam, P.O. Box 1894, Fort Worth, Texas 76101

Or dropped off at his office at : 1305 W. Magnolia (office is around back by the parking lot), office hours M-F 9 - 4 p.m., 817-927-7400

Please remember there is a deadline of December 11th.....Thank you....Rose Lynn

2. agree, don't know why Art isn't doing this actually...
unless Lon has to use someone in Austin or Houston?

good question, and I am not exactly rolling in it myself these days.

Just put it out there for others to see, hoping some non Tarrant co folks might want to help out ...getting more embarrasment heaped on Tom Delay is always a worthy cause!!!1
