If you came to Austin for the DFA/21st Century Democrats training
If you came to Austin for the DFA/21st Century Democrats training back in August, we're looking for feedback about the location. Was it easy to find, were facilities adequate, what could have been better? We're in the planning phase for DemocracyFest and your comments can help make that enjoyable for all. Please reply to this post or PM me. Thanks.

1. Where is the party going to be held?
Is there a Bar B Q place with a large seating room available?

3. Overall, it was great!
The college was fine. I was in the "Texas" group that did all the breakouts in the main hall, which was OK but it did get a bit loud.

However, the parking sitch was a bit impromptu and if there will be MORE people there, it will probably be kind of inadequte.

The recommended hotel was kind of a dump. Leaky airconditioners and a pretty down at the heel atmosphere. You might want to recommend several, in different price ranges, or something. The Fairfield Inn north of town is in the same approx price range and IIRC when I stayed there it was much cleaner. Also when I went down there for SXSW there's a nice little hotel that's right downtown, within walking distance of the bars -- I wanna say it's on the west end of 6th, right around the corner from Whole Foods and Waterloo, it's some chain -- it was pretty clean and decent, and within staggering distance of the bars, which is always a good thing.

BTW my cadre of Dallas activist friends (none of whom post on here, but me, I think) have ALREADY reserved an ENTIRE bed and breakfast and we are eagerly salivating at the opportunity to come down and get trained. :D Keep us posted, we're DYING to buy tickets! :)
