Another piece of old Seattle/Tacoma is going away!
Here we go again. More of old Seattle/Tacoma goes away. It is truly sad to see Never Never Land in Tacoma go away. I used to visit it when I was little.

How many more things of our history will go?

1. OH NO! I'm so sad to hear this
Damn it - all the cool kitschy stuff of our youth is vanishing before our eyes.

The day Dick's Drive-In goes away will be the day old Seattle will truly be dead!

4. If Dick's goes, we might as well all pack it in
It would all be over.

At least we still have the pink elephant and the Add Bardahl sign in Ballard. (I'm very into old neon, as you can tell).

5. I love neon lights too!
I was angry when they took out the Food Giant sign in Wallingford but I guess they had to since QFC bought them. Still you have that nostalgia thing though.

I am overdue for a visit to MOHAI. The only trouble is I think I may get tears in my eyes if I go.

7. Q-Fucking-C bought our Thriftway, too!
And they promised they wouldn't change a thing.. the employees would stay. BS. They brought in their own people and reduced the hours of many of the original Thriftway employees that they deemed to be not corporate enough.

10. When Wallingford lost the Food Giant
a big part of Seattle history died...IMHO. I remember it always said "OOD GIANT" as the "F" was generally burned out.

6. I was bummed to hear that only Humpty was saved!
I would have gladly bought some oddities to benefit the park fund, or something like that.. Sad to see it go!

8. I'm still bummed that Temple of the Bean went the way
of the dinosaur. There's a teriyaki place there now. :(
