President of Seattle police union killed in traffic accident

STATELINE, Idaho -- The president of the Seattle police union died in an automobile accident early Wednesday near the Washington-Idaho border, Idaho State Police said.

Ken Saucier, 40, was returning from a shooting competition when his vehicle rolled over about 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 90 near Stateline, police said.

A passenger, Wesley Lorenz, 46, of Lynnwood, was taken to a Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, with minor injuries and released.
Saucier, president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild since 2002, was driving home from the annual National Rifle and Pistol Championships in Camp Perry, Ohio, when the crash occurred, said state police Trooper Ronald Sutton.

I can't remember where it was - some charity event - he seemed like a good guy, and he was way too young to leave us. :(

For some reason, the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo, California, has a gorgeous dressing room named for her. I think she may have lived up in that area.. and her family donated the money. It's a lovely room.
