Door Co. here we come! Any vacation tips??
A good chunk of my clan will be vacationing in Door Co. in August. We'll be staying in the Egg Harbor and Sturgeon Bay areas. I've got some pretty good ideas for things to do already: Fish boils (lots of them), the dinner boat tour, the martime museum in Sturgeon Bay...
I'm looking for more tips from those who know the area. We want to see all the natural beauty that the area has to offer, so we're looking for tips on hiking, biking, and other sightseeing, including the local architecture etc. Good restaurants?

2. Al Johnson's Swedish Restaraunt in Sister Bay.

Cool place, they have goats that eat the grass growing on the roof. The food kicks ass, too. Penninsula state park is pretty cool, too. The rustic roads are nice for biking or driving. Ephraim is interesting. It's the only dry town in Wisconsin. Don't forget to pick up some cherries, as well.

4. We vacationed in the Green Bay area a few years ago ...

We enjoyed the Maritime Museum. We really enjoyed the Cana Island lighthouse tour. The Railroad Museum with a thousand ton locomotive and Heritage Hill with working cheese factory and blacksmith, both in Green Bay are really interesting but it would be an hours drive.

7. The Ridges Sanctuary
The Ridges Sanctuary is essential if you are interested in wildflowers.

Newport State park is a beautiful place for hiking and camping, and Washington Island is great for biking.

9. Thanks to everybody for your replies
The vacation starts in less than a week, and I'm geeked. You could go on a lifetime of vacations, just traveling all around these Great Lakes. I'm looking forward to seeing another beautiful area!
Screw the right wingers that call the area home today. My Belgian ancestors were making shingles out of pine trees in the area before the Civil War, sleeping under the stars on pine boughs, and fishing the icy waters of Green Bay, for food and income. Republicans don't work like that.
