3. Not that I don't agree...

Mark Belling once said, "the job of the government isn't to keep people from doing what they want to do, or make them do what they don't want to do." It was in response to us whiny libruls crying that expanding the highways into poor neighborhoods is a bad idea (socially, environmentally, etc.) and that light rail is still a good idea ("nobody wants it; we shouldn't be forced into it," as though building a commuter train would necessitate bulldozing the highways and confiscating cars).

30 minutes later, he was railing about gay marriage. Strange -- he didn't have the "government shouldn't stand in the way of letting people do what they want to do" mantra then.
