LTTE material, we'll see if they print... ---------------
Republicans continued their culture of corruption this week when George W. Bush unapologetically admitted breaking the law to spy on American citizens. The talking points, predictably from the right try to cover their tracks by saying he spoke to Democratic leaders about it.
They of course don't mention that this was a meeting in which they were sworn to secrecy or they faced a grand jury indictment so they could not vocally pronounce their objections earlier.
The fact that Republicans are trying to justify this shows their utter contempt for our Constitution and rights as American citizens.
If this was being used to track terrorists, maybe they would have a leg to stand on, but clearly this has been used, as has the Patriot Act, as a way to harass and investigate political enemies to this Administration.
When the domestic spying story broke it was revealed that the CIA was tapping the lines of Anti-War Peace Activist Quakers, hardly Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda. Prior to this it had been known that the FBI had been harassing anti-war protesters in Colorado and Michigan and Affirmative Action groups in Michigan. It's obvious that the FBI and CIA have been ordered to halt the foes of this insecure Administration.
A Republican Attorney General in Kansas, Phil Kline requested the records of 90 women who had abortions without true cause other than obvious harassment.
All this proves is when Republicans are in power they will do anything they can to destroy, defame and harass their enemies... much like what another insecure Republican did in a time of mismanaged war... That was Nixon and Watergate. Nixon would have faced impeachment and Bush deserves the same.
In 2006 hopefully we as Americans will step up to defend our constitutional rights and take back our country from the corrupt Republican Party.

I'd say the chances of publication are pretty good.

4. Well done and well said! |

I do hope it gets published. It will be a nice change from the uninformed, illogical, RW tripe they usually print. Will be on the lookout for it!

It seems like 75% of the time our op ed sections are without any sane commentary. I have no doubt that the nutjob article is setting off the brilliance of yours just like black velvet does a diamond.
If nutjobs have a purpose at all, that should be it.

7. A former co-worker who's in the FBI |
|
came back for a visit last week. He was discussing some of the work he's doing to track terrorists. I wanted to ask him if he was tracking any 'others' :sarcasm: , but I was too chicken-shit to bring it up in front of the group.
