Roger Breske
I just got a visit from Roger Breske, a long-time friend of our family's. I needed some campaign signs, because I have several prominet places for them, but had no way to get them. He lives near by, and offered to drop them off. I wasn't expecting that at all, and if any of you out there are in the 12th district, please consider voting for Roger. He is running against Tom Tiffany, who owns Wilderness Cruises near Tomahawk, and has NO political experience. All he will be is a mouthpiece for those trying to BUY this Senate seat. As a teacher, I also appreciate all he has done for education in our state, especially his support of getting resources for the SAGE program, and his vote against the TABOR thing. He's a good guy who I trust, a lot.

4. I just read your message about Breske--------
What is it about TABOR that you don't like? I thought it was supposed to eliminate some of the state mandates, that are never funded, but are shoved down our throats, by so called "do-gooder" legislators. What's wrong with that????

Look at the reasons and all the groups, Dem-friendly groups, that are also against TABOR & why. Mary Panzer tried to sneak in a vote during the Democratic Convention, while many of the Wisconsin Dems were gone, and look where that got her.
What is it you LIKE about TABOR?

6. You've bought the Puke talking points, my friend
There were several threads here on TABOR in the spring when the repigs were trying to ram it through.

TABOR would essentially cripple our local and state governments from passing legislation that required funding - even the tiniest, most inexpensive legislation - without a referendum. That's why we elect our representatives in the first place. They are supposed to go to the townhall, the courthouse and the capital and do their job. If we don't have the money, then the answer is to vote no or rework the budget. If we don't like how they vote, we vote them out.

Colorado has lived under a TABOR system for about 10 years. The quality of their public education has declined, their public services have eroded to almost nothing. They are hurting and a repeal is on the table.

There's loads of research on it. Check out the two DU links above and you'll find just a few of the many places to go for more information on TABOR.

7. Dont forget fucking up the Univerities as well.
Colorado University's gonna have to privatize in 2010 just to stay afloat if TABOR isn't killed.

You think that tuition is too high now, just wait if TABOR passes.

and , ain't Annie a great expounder?? She's vocal, well read, and kind of a "hottie", no???
All kidding aside, I'm still trying to find out what's so wrong with Tabor? I thought referendums, were the ultimate peoples choice, when trying to decide where to spend, and where to cut budgets.

14. Do you check with everyone in your family before you spend a dollar?
Do you discuss it, print ballots and have them vote? No, because by the time you get an answer, you've wasted time, money, and probably lost the financial opportunity to snag a deal or get something on sale. Presumably, you have the experience and know how to balance a budget, consider your expenses, determine whether or not you need to cut back and whether or not you can afford to spend anything without having to ask everyone in the family.

TABOR represents the exact same kind of wasteful program except we pay our legislator to do a job that you take on for free for you and your family. All TABOR does is allow our duly elected coward representatives to avoid all responsibility for managing our state. IT'S THEIR JOB, for crissakes! And in the long run will cost us more money. And they call themselves the party of responsibility?

And shirking of responsibility is just the beginning with TABOR. If you can't take the time to find out more about TABOR than what the reich-wing think tanks can provide to you, any further discussion on the matter is a complete waste of time. You'll find the majority of us have better things to do with our time than debunking reich-wing talking points that have already been debunked.
