ziegler Disrespects Abrahamson
Edited on Sun Nov-30-08 11:17 AM by Dinger
her and roggensack both. They're already priming up for Abrhahamson's seat. I don't know about you, but this scares me. So far, they're two for two. write your legislators, write Doyle, write letters to the editor, etc. This CAN'T happen again!

"At the meeting, Ziegler suggested she was put under more scrutiny than Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson, who has been on the court 32 years. Ziegler noted that Abrahamson has enjoyed past support from the Wisconsin Education Association Council, the state's largest teachers union.

"This court, as a court, doesn't have rules that this court consistently applies across the board," Ziegler said to Abrahamson."

""Do you get asked to get off cases involving WEAC because they have been so supportive of you? . . . I don't know. But when I came on this court, there was zero guidance, and I think it'd be good for us all to have the exact same rules applied regardless."

Abrahamson said she thought justices were treated equally. She said the issue wasn't new because judges in Wisconsin have always been elected."Do you get asked to get off cases involving WEAC because they have been so supportive of you? . . . I don't know. 2. It's time to stop electing supreme court justices.
Let's get specail interest groups like WMC and WEAC out of the court!

3. WEAC and WMC Are NOTHING Alike
And just for full disclosure, I am a teacher and belong to WEAC. But please, don't lump WEAC together with WMC.

4. Sorry about that.
But seriously, no special interests should have a say on who sits on the high court, no matter who they represent.

5. These candidates
The candidates for the courts via the WMC are getting tiresome at the least. Chief Justice Abrahamson is better than all of this.

6. Blue print
Read John Grisham's "The Appeal". Although it is fiction it lays out the exact way the last two elections for judges went in WI. In the authors end notes he remarks that the tactics and end results for these elections are all too familiar. I had a hard time getting through the book because it made me so angry. If you have enough money you will these types of elections every time.
