Wisconsin Voter Rights and How to Report Abuses

MADISON - Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager today issued a warning to Wisconsin citizens to be aware of their voting rights and to report any voting irregularities they may observe to the proper authorities.

“Given the importance of voting in our democracy and the importance of this fall’s election, I am concerned that voting problems that have happened in other states not occur here in Wisconsin,” Lautenschlager said. “To try to prevent such problems, I am encouraging all Wisconsin citizens to be fully aware of their voting rights, and to exercise these rights.”

Lautenschlager added that if citizens have questions about how to register to vote, how to apply for an absentee ballot, or where to vote, they should contact the Wisconsin Elections Board at [phone], or they can contact their local municipal clerk. If citizens have problems or complaints about their voting experience they should contact the Elections Board, or the Wisconsin Attorney General’s Office at 608-266-1221.
