Milwaukee Journal Sentinel too liberal? |
|
Did anyone else hear that WPR will be covering charges that the MJS is just too dang lib'rul in its editorials? It's going to be one of those 1-hour call-in shows this week.
Anyone hear details?
Can we have a show discussing that the rest of MSM is too conservative?

Why don't we have a show discussing right wing bias in the broadcast media?

"America is Conservative". It is precieved that right leaning media speaks for the common person. They are "Fair and Balanced" (tm).
When we get upset and angry, we are attacked as loony. (That's why Ed has his Anger Alert)

3. no, I think it's WUWM's "At Ten" show today |
|
not WPR... "The new editorial page editor of the Journal Sentinel shares his philosophy and answers critics who say the opinion page is too liberal. Ricardo Pimentel is a vice president at the paper. He talks with Jane Hampden..." http://www.wuwm.com/programs/atten/

5. I've been out of MIlwaukee too long -- are they one paper now? |
|
Back in the day, while the Journal-Sentinel Publishing company published both papers out of the same building, the Sentinel was the more conservative paper coming out in the morning (for management), and the Journal was a more liberal paper coming out in the afternoon (for the second and third shifts).
Did they combine into one newspaper since the early 90's? If so, sounds like the Journal's editorial board won out? That would be nice, if so.

Not sure who won out. But it's a fairly weak product compared to the two papers' heyday. You can check it out yourself: http://www.jsonline.com/

I'll add that to my list of names for places and things that are represented by misnomers. That one is right up there with the Wisconsin State Urinal.

6. Ever read the editorial page? |
|
Lots and lots of Cal Thomas, Kathleen Parker and other assorted juvenile-level attempts at print journalism.
Liberal? HAH! I'll accept centrist, but certainly not liberal.

I seem to remember them endorsing Dole in 1996.
