3. for the cheese?
and the great people who live there? I have a lot of friends in the Madison area. BTW, it isn't that much warmer here in Arkansas, and I bet that Wisconsin has this quaint custom called plowing and salting roads!

9. CO got down to less than -21 degrees wind chill last night!
However, I've beent o Wisconson, I'm not sure why you guys subject yourselves to those extremes either? Maybe for the company? Nice people live in Wisconson, or is it just the endless supply of flowing alcohol that makes them so happy? Merry Christmas, go have a heavily alcohol laden eggnog, it'll warm you right up!

12. There's something about -5 degrees
that just makes you feel ALIVE!!!!!

I remember with fondness when the high for the day in Ashland was
-20degrees F...and how everybody was in such good spirits....

Wisconsin is Okay by me!!!

p,s,: I'm also incredibly happy just to be alive after the heart attack on the 12th!

27. And we're incredibly happy that you're with us!
How are you feeling, E? I know it's a long road back from bypass surgery, but you seem to have a hearty spirit and a determined attitude.

And you're right about cold weather. I've told some of my southern friends that there's nothing quite like the feeling of inhaling sub-zero temperatures and having your nostrils freeze. I also think it helps to kill the germs.

14. Ohio not good either.
In Columbus it's 10 degrees with a wind chill of
-1 and we lost our heat and electricity for 18 hours yesterday due to an ice storm. Some people still don't have electricity and many may not get it back till Sunday.

You should see my hybrid willows in the back yard they are bent all the way to the ground from the weight of the ice. They are pretty cool looking, wish I had a digital camera I would post a picture of them.

15. Because a median-priced house in San Diego is nearly $500,000
Sure, the weather is nice here, but I don't know how the average person can afford to have a roof over their head.

Last summer I saw an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune about a couple who sold their house here and moved to Wisconsin, bought a house and pocketed more than $400,000.

Of course, they probably bought the house in the middle of the beautiful green summer.

. . . wonder how they are doing now?

17. Oh stop it. Put on a hat and some skates and get your but out there.
Skate until your numb, then go warm up in the warming house. Have a nip and get back at it. There is nothing like skating across a glass smooth lake in the cold Wisconsin sunshine. Now all we need is SNOW. Ohio is stealing everything this year.

30. Hooray! It was perfect. We had a fire, the kids were opening presents,
big flakes falling outside. And now, today, is a snow day and we're building the coolest of snow forts. I don't think I can ever leave Wisconsin for very long.

19. I hate the weather too
I moved here from Ohio, which was only a little better but that little made a difference.
Yes, it was terrible shopping downtown this morning. My nose was dripping when I got in every store because of the temperature difference.
I am getting lazier in the cold too. Who wants to stay outside very long walking when it is below zero. You can't get warm. Even if my limbs and core stay warm enough, any exposed skin (like my face) just gets too cold.
I guess we live here because it gets nicer in the spring.
