1. Still snowing now.
We've got about an inch and we're supposed to get 3 more.

Looks like its time for some more snowflake making.

2. We've got 5" maybe 6"
and it's still snowing hard. I've shoveled once but I'm not gonna do it again until it stops.

I was out ice fishing in the snow this morning and it was absolutely, beautifully, peaceful.

5. I'm jealous, wish __I__ was there!!! (and OT questions)
I grew up in WI & the "midwest", but have been in TX for about 14 years now - and am THOROUGHLY SICK OF IT, especially the weather. Here in Austin, we have essentially 9 months of summer, interrupted by 3 months of mixed fall/spring weather. Ugh.

I've been considering a move back to WI for years now, so here's an off-topic question: how's the computer geek job market up there? I get the daily updates from Monster board, seems like Madison has a pretty steady flow of programmer jobs (I do C++/C#/etc.).

But here's the kicker, which job postings don't mention: Does the I.T. world up there discriminate against old geezers (relatively speaking - I'm in my mid-40's) like they do down here? I guess I have a vague/hopeful idea in my head that WI companies might welcome "anybody" with open arms (?), since a lot of kids head south or to California after graduating from college (do they?).

6. Winters are too long
In WI winters are too long, in TX summers are too long. Nothing's perfect, take the lessor of two evils I guess.

I tried to get in the IT field a couple of years ago and what I saw available was just contract work. Went to a couple of job fairs and met quite a few guys with IT experience working odd jobs to get by or not working at all. Sorry I can't help you more.
