Pridefest unfortunately was also the last day of the Convention so a lot of us couldn't make it. I have a friend that went though...

Christians always act as if they are the most persecuted people in the world... yet they are these days the ones doing most of the persecuting.

3. I may have challenged this (fill in the blank) christianity.

they had just provoked some poor drunken chick into going after them 'till the point where she got handcuffed. And they claim to be doing God's work. grrr. Great lesson for my kids! ha--they thought I totally rocked.

Edited to add: I have been at PrideFest for the past five years with my husband, 3 daughters and my church to let folks know of the existence of an open and affirming Christian congregation.

6. Too late now, but...

Do they have booths at this event? I think next year a group of straight, ecumenical Christians should set up a booth to advertise that not everybody in the pew on Sunday is a gibbering idiot.

4. I Used To Debate Them But.....

now I just walk in and try to ignore them. I have a special case with these protesters because I used to be a licensed minister with a fundamentalist denomination.Obviously when I came out that ended. So I know the Bible and I know they are full of crap. But it is too stressful to me to debate them anymore.
I was at Pridefest last night....did you all enjoy it? I will be going today as well...what about you???

5. household and family schedules were too much conflict to attend today

the guy just pissed me off. They were all so smug and happy with themselves for provoking the chick and then she got arrested. I was standing there with my kids. I couldn't let it pass in silence. Silence is bad for you. He's trying to quote Leviticus and Paul to me. I asked him if he really thought he was doing Christ's work. Show me what Jesus called the Christ said to condemn homosexuality----nothing. Lots about justice and forgiveness, love your neighbor, that sort of thing. Their signs actually said "Jesus Christ can save you." Paul spoke for Paul. Arghhh. Sorry, you know what I mean.
