When will US electronic products start coming down in price? |
|
I've had my eye on a Palm T/X for over a year now. Currently $299 in the USA, $399 here.
That was fine a year ago, or more, but with a $US now worth about $1.10 CDN, shouldn't prices be coming down significantly soon? How long does that exchange rate have to remain where it is before we start to see that translate into cheaper electronics?
I recall Canadian electronic prices on Palms dropping from 50% higher to about 33% higher than the US counterparts when the $CDN was rising about three years ago, so I expect it should happen at some point as long as it's clear we're headed in the direction of parity.

1. Could you buy it online... |

from an American source and pay in US$? Or would shipping and duty charges kill any exchange rate savings.
Just wonderin....

I am old enought to remember when our dollar was worth more than the US dollar prior to 1976, and the same goods still cost more than the States.
