Harper is going to have an increasingly hard time trying to hide the ever increasing number of Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan whether he continues to ban coverage of the return of their bodies.
Too bad the debate on extending the mission is going to be a rubberstamping exercise....or maybe not:
Conservatives in danger of losing vote on extending Afghan mission
OTTAWA (CP) - The fate of the Conservative government's plan to extend Canada's military mission in Afghanistan now lies in the hands of Liberal MPs.
The Bloc Quebecois, following in the footsteps of the NDP, announced Wednesday that it will vote against a motion to extend the mission by two years.
Liberal Leader Bill Graham said his MPs will be free to vote their conscience, meaning many will not support the motion.

The power to deploy troops rests in the hands of the government, not Parliament. But if the motion fails to pass, Harper would be honour-bound not to extend the deployment.

What are the odds that 30 Liberals will support Harper....pretty good odds, imo, sadly.
