Farmers share beef over low prices
TRURO, N.S. — Cattle farmers in Nova Scotia gave away half a ton of hamburger Tuesday to protest low beef prices.

"If we are about to lose everything, we may as well go down swinging," said Marilyn Carter, who operates a farm near Amherst.

"I think it's terrible what the government has done, or not done," said Joan Chipman.

Agriculture Minister Chris d'Entremont was at the giveaway and said the government is listening, but that he didn't have great words of comfort.
