need the help of a canadian |
|
Hi,
I've come across a disturbing web site that openly calls for the murder of several individuals, with names, photos, etc. (I won't be posting a link since these folks are obviously nutcases!)
The registrar of the domain is hidden behind a proxy, but I see the hosting company is located in Canada.
I wanted to notify the Canadian authorities regarding this site. From what I understand, though correct me if I'm wrong, I should contact the RCMP. However, on their site they say people living outside Canada cannot report crimes and should contact the authorities in their country and have them contact the RCMP.
Rather than contact the Italian authorities, I was wondering if someone living in Canada could report this for me.
Any takers?
PM me and I'll give you more info.
Thanks for any help on this!

1. I would check with the Canadian embassy |

I'm not sure the notice on the RCMP web site would be definitive. I would suggest contacting the Canadian Embassy (in Rome) first, if only to confirm that you cannot lay the complaint directly yourself.
And if you do have to register your complaint through the Italian police, that's what I'd advise you to do (unless there is some reason not to do so.) To proceed otherwise through an uninvolved party in Canada may just complicate things legally.
