Exist on the same continent??? ain't she a sweetheart
Coulter: Canada is "lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent"; Carlson: "Without the U.S., Canada is essentially Honduras"

"On November 30, as President Bush visited Canada to meet with Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin in an effort to improve the two countries' strained relations, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter and CNN Crossfire co-host Tucker Carlson ridiculed the United States' northern neighbor. On FOX News Channel's Hannity & Colmes, Coulter said that Canadians "better hope the United States doesn't roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent." On CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports, Carlson stated: "Without the U.S., Canada is essentially Honduras, but colder and much less interesting"; he went on to say that instead of following politics, "the average Canadian is busy dogsledding." And on Crossfire, Carlson referred to the "limpid, flaccid nature of Canadian society."

2. What a pair of "Ugly Americans"
That kind of divisive talk is shameful. I've spent a lot of time visiting Canada and am horrified at this small minded spewing. It's enough to reduce a person to tears. I'm sick of it!

3. What the hell is wrong with them?
They are just sick pathetic people with no respect for anyone but themselves. Oh well, it must be an awfully scary world for them to live in.

7. I have to agree
As a Canadian living in the USA I find it appalling that 'some' Americans actually 'worship' ann coulter. I think she's a poor excuse for a human being. But that's just my opinion :)

13. She's NUTS!! God, what a loony!!
I wonder if she really believes all that poison she spouts or if she's just doing it for the money??

Whichever it is, it shows she's not "all there."

6. and now we're going to get to pay for them

I have to get around to letting Rogers (my cable company) know that I do not intend to pay for any digital package that includes Fox, so they hadn't better to adding it to any package I now have and charging me for the privilege of listening to this oinking.

I wonder whether the CRTC could be persuaded to reconsider?

Too bad this didn't happen *after* Fox appeared in Canada. Can we complain to the CRTC about something said on a channel that has been authorized but not yet distributed, do you suppose?

8. I sure as hell would
I'd be firing off e-mails right now, with links to show it really happened. I do not, as a rule, hate people. But that scum sucking whore deserves every horrible thing that is bound to happen to her some day.

12. Yes the CRTC would be very interested in Coulter's comment on
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 03:02 AM by gjb
Wolf Blitzer that she hated Canada because, "they speak French there. I hate French." That alone should get their licence pulled and our brothers and sisters in Quebec would be more than happy to second the motion.

CRTC licences can be pulled if they violate Canada's anti discrimination laws and anti French bias in Canada is a slam dunk, no brainer bias hate/complaint.

I don't think FUX News will be broadcasting very long in Canada before the find themselves in court. They're going to find out that increasing their market share by 10% by moving into Canada is the worst financial decision they ever made.

9. My dream come true.....
would be the chance to ball up my fist and knock the hell out of her. She should be lucky that we allow her to live on the same continent with sane people.

I hope this doesn't get deleted. Keep in mind that she's the one who provokes hatred. I just had to get that thought out. I really do daydream of doing that sometimes. I think we all do.

Actually, my real dream come true might be for gay marriages to become legal. Then, we could get her and some other female far right winger drunk. Then, we could slid them to the alter and get them married. I'd love to see that reaction.

10. I agree with Jon Stewart - this kind of discourse is bad for America
and I would add it's bad for the rest of the world too!

She's preaching prejudice and intolerance at a very sensitive time in our world. If people like this would simply stop, and think about why, it could go a long way to a better understanding.

But that's not the goal - it's to intimidate and demean anyone and everyone who disagrees with you. Completely insane!

BTW - Tucker also said that Canadians oppose bush because we "hate ourselves" - what a stupid fuck.

I think the Globe&Mail said it best;

A new poll out Monday, commissioned by Friends of America, suggests, however, that Canadians value the national relationship with the United States and do not confuse it with personal differences between leaders.

A survey of 1,000 Canadians, conducted by GPC Public Affairs, showed that 71 per cent thought the United States was our closest friend and that about the same percentage believe that “opposing the policies of President Bush is not the same as being anti-American.”
