Poll question: Trudeau Redux?
Justin Trudeau has gone from saying "never" and "no way" when asked about running for office. The last time he was asked, shortly after his wedding, he said "you never know" with a knowing smile on his face. Is this going to be Paul Martin's successor?

2. I know nothing about his politics - and neither does anyone else
And to say that the son will carry on his father's dream is myth and rumour.
Let him win a seat first - then we'll talk.

3. I understand...
I know that he is a environmentalist and fairly involved in children's issues. But if he is running, and it would appear that he's thinking about doing something, who in the liberal party would really be in his way?

5. Maybe, but
I saw the clip where they asked the question and the look on his face and the tone of his answer basically said that something was happening.

7. I don't see anything stopping them
After Martin there is no heir apparent in the Liberal caucus - not on the federal level anyway.

8. Plenty of them
and nobody wants a rehash of Trudeau.

He has his place in history. The sons are quite different.

There is no intergenerational magic ya know.

11. A 'name'
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 07:10 PM by Maple
will only get you so far.

It takes far more than that.

So far Justin hasn't stuck to anything for more than 15 minutes, and never shown any interest in politics.

Stop making a 'star' out of the guy just because of his name.

There are 2 other kids you know. How many stars do you want?

We have far better qualified people.

On edit: And he's way too young.

10. hold on a minute ...

Don't we already have a hereditary monarchy in this country?

Let's leave the self-appointed variety to our neighbours to the south, eh?

Me, I might join the Liberal Party just to make sure this does *not* happen. Paul M. is one hereditary member of Her Majesty's Privy Council for Canada too many already.
