First time I've seen it break the loony barrier, at least for regular gas.

How about other places?

10. I spent the weekend at my brother's cottage
south end of Long Lake. I believe I've been to Bala. We went into town and my brother pointed out where the train station used to be and we, simultaneously said, and where it may be again.

It cost $50 gas this weekend, round trip TO to Bala.

Nice mix of poor locals and millionaire cottagers with villas on Lake Muskoka.

My mom's cousin was one of those millionaires.

11. It was only 98 cents in centre-west Toronto last night.
But they probably jacked it up this morning for all the commuters doing a Monday fillup.

15. Petro-Can near Queensway and Runnymede.
I guess that's almost in Etobicoke, but we live a ways to the East. I'm not sure what you'd call that area. Some suburbanites my wife works with call where we live downtown.

I haven't been by there today, but I wouldn't be surprised if they raised their price.

22. I guess we're lucky then....
We saw .96 in Collingwood, but then purchased for .94 in Singhampton.

We had seen on the news that it was up over $1.00 in places, and was nearly that in Wasaga Beach. ( .99)

24. It's well past 1.00 in most of Québec
Only the Outaouais, because we're on the Ontarian border, were still under it. But if Ottawa is over the buck, so are we I guess.

That makes quite angry.

Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 05:26 PM by ironflange
That's at Esso, after the 5 cent Speedpass discount. Wow! What a deal! :eyes:

I remember when it was a big deal to get five bucks' worth of gas into my Beetle.

edit: One more thing. I remember being outraged a few years ago by the price of gas in Watson Lake, Yukon. It was 70 cents.

I filled up for $0.945 (with no discounts) at a downtown (Richmond St/Jarvis St)Toronto Petro Canada station on Tuesday night. It must have been a good deal because it was really busy at 11:30pm.
