President's Radio Address


THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. In a few weeks, our country will mark the four-year anniversary of the attacks of September the 11th, 2001. On that day, we learned that vast oceans and friendly neighbors no longer protect us from those who wish to harm our people. And since that day, we have taken the fight to the enemy.

That's a direct insult...and a bald faced lie.

Audiences perhaps.
But the external audience take it as an insult for the efforts that have and are continuing to be taken. In addition it can be taken as a threat.

Just put yourself in the shoes of a Mexican, Canadian or a Russian and think of it from their perspective.

internal audience given that I'm new to the USA. I'm Canadian. It certainly is threatening. I do get to see both perspectives.

I wasn't specifically speaking of you personally but rather the audience for the speech.(Which may in fact include Canada).

However, re-reading my reply, I did seem to perhaps include you.

because this 'neighbour' feels decidely UNFRIENDLY to the bush cabal.
