Acting!
The performance of Stephen Harper and his two toadies bemoaning healthcare in Canada in the Conservatives latest commercial is really quite remarkable. Thespians I tell ya.

3. not ready for prime time players ...
... or the Ne'er-Do-Well Thespians?

We've eased up on the Newsworld watching of late, of course, what with there being so much excitement on Fox and CNN and so much of nothing on the CBC ... and tend to watch cable stuff otherwise ... so we've missed this masterpiece. Apparently it doesn't air during Coronation Street, where we've been treated to quite a library of history minutes lately. I guess we'll have to find a rerun to watch on Global or some such in order to keep up to date.

Speaking of history minutes:

"NDWT (Ne'er-Do-Well-Thespians) <actually a theory about the name, never confirmed, it having originally been said to be a meaningless acronym> was formally organized in 1975 by playwright James Reaney, director Keith Turnbull, and a number of actors. One of their most successful productions was Reaney's Donnelly trilogy, and there were touring productions of this and other plays until the company disbanded in 1982."

(you may recognize the Family Compact guy from The Campbells, if you're too young to remember NDWT)
