But if I could, I'd vote for the LibDems. :)

2. If there were a general election tomorrow, I'd have a real problem... |
|
... just as I did with the Euro.
Never previously voted anything but Labour in my life and was meself a Labour Councillor for 12 years but struggled with this one, especially as I knew, liked and respected one of the Green candidates. Also considered Respect but have issues with some of their stances.
Wouldn't, at present, vote for the Lib Dems whom I find opportunist in the extreme. A few years ago I lived in the South but returned regularly to the North to visit and never failed to be amused at how they sold themselves as a Left party in the South and a Right party in the North. Their anti-war before the war/ pro-war during the war stance was par for the course.
So in the end, I gritted my teeth and voted Labour ONLY to keep the Tories and UKIP Loonies at bay.
It would be nice to have something POSITIVE to vote for.

3. LibDem (partly for tactical reasons) |
|
In my constituency, it's between the LibDems and the Tories. We now have a rather good Lib Dem MP; we used to have the horrible former Education Secretary John Patten. So it makes sense to vote Lib Dem here. Anyway, I won't support Blair.
I voted Green in the Euro Elections, mainly to support our excellent candidate Mike Woodin, who has since died tragically young. He is perhaps the only person whom I have ever positively voted for, rather than against the opposition.

Are they like here in the States and Canada where they have no real national standing, and only hold posititions on city councils and mayorships?

5. More information on the Greens |
|
Can be found on this thread, along with the RESPECT Coalition. The Greens have a few council seats and I think they even have MEP's but nothing at Westminster. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=191x61
