A sane Labour MP? Something must be up
Today's Mirror
By Frank Dobson.

quote
what I won't accept is any law which allows a British citizen to be put under house arrest or denied the right to go to work just on the say-so of the Home Secretary or any other politician.

Either he's retiring or Blair is going to re-think some of the anti-terror legislation.

1. He's one of that rare breed:
A Labour MP who can think for themselves... see also Robin Cook & Claire Short

Hopefully after the election there'll be the same number/more of these, but less career/Tony's-always-right types

2. He's one of my favourites
Used to be my MP, when I lived in London. He's definitely one of the decent ones.

3. Harry Barnes
The MP for North East Derbyshire, He's good, although he too is retiring. :-(

If truth be told there are MP's in all three parties who I think are good MP's, but there are also plenty of brainwashed party hacks, loonies, megalomaniacs and so on.

4. Here's an interesting site on MPs voting records
You can select a list of votes, and then compare MPs to your 'dream MP'.

Looking at someone's list for "No more Terrorism Laws", Dobson was OK with the laws pre-2002, but then changed (he was fed up with the hype about terrorism?)
