1. Labour/LibDem alliance
Brown as PM. Dammit, Tory or continued Blair cabinet is both unacceptable! I predict defeat for the Chickenhawks.

3. Brown couldn't just leap in as P.M.
Obviously in theory the Queen could appoint him, and he would probably survive a no-confidence motion in the Commons. A coallition would in the short-term secure Blair's position.

Coallition governments are unstable, replacing Blair would require a long drawn-out leadership contest within the Labour Party (Brown up against Charles Clarke or John Reid) which would get bloody and damage the Labour Party very much.

A small Labour majority could see Blair forced to step down.

2. A large Labour majority, I'm afraid
I reckon about 60-70 seats.

4. I'm less optimistic
I reckon more in the reigion of 100 seats. I can't see anyone coming close to overturning a majority of about 180 seats.

5. 50-99 Labour majority
I'd prefer a lot less, pref a Labour-Lib Dem coalition, but can't see it happening

6. I'm guessing a Labour majority of just under 50 seats
It could be more if Labour run a good campaign.
