Mo Mowlam 'critically ill'
Former Northern Ireland secretary Mo Mowlam is critically ill, hospital officials said this afternoon.

Ms Mowlam had previously suffered a brain tumour and her increasingly frail appearance in recent months prompted fresh fears for her health.

The former MP for Redcar is at King's College hospital in London. A hospital spokeswoman described her condition as "critical but stable".

2. Sorry to hear this. I was sorry that Mo became a little too Blairite ...
... but she Did The State Some Service especially during her tenure in Northern Ireland.

I met her once in the tea-room in the Commons where I was part of a local NUT delegation lobbying local MP Ronnie Campbell. I liked her a lot: a lovely, warm, funny lady with a ribald sense of humour.

5. Oh, I am so sorry to hear that!
She is one of my favourite recent politicians: indeed one of the few whom I like at all.

I do hope that she makes it!!!

6. Many good vibes
Mo Mowlam is a great hearted woman, and i wish her all the best,
no matter what. She stood for peace and justice in an administration
obsessed with straussian deception.

Peace has come to northern ireland, and she is one who's heart helped
to make that peace. What a great soul. I'm sure she feels great
about her life. If one has to go, she already walks in the arms of
god.

And while she is here on earth, blessings fall from the sky.

7. Mo Mowlam transferred to hospice
Critically ill former Northern Ireland Secretary Mo Mowlam has been moved from hospital to a hospice in Kent to be closer to her family.

Ms Mowlam, 55, was taken to hospital in London two weeks ago. Hospital officials say her condition is still "critical but stable".

She has now been transferred from King's College Hospital in London to Pilgrim Hospice in Canterbury.

No details of her illness have been given by her doctors.

The hospital has refused to say whether or not it is connected to her previous brain tumour.

8. I am glad, at least, that Mo is to receive hospice care.
I am a great supporter of the modern hospice movement and gratified to hear that she will be receiving this level of care as her life draws to its close.

My thoughts are with her and her family.

9. I am so sorry to hear this.
Ms. Mowlam is a courageous person and I respect her greatly. I'm afraid we'll not see a person with her qualities again.

I can only wish that she and her family finds peace and comfort.
