1. I can think of NOTHING more riveting than watching a drama about David
Blunkett getting his leg over. I LITERALLY can't wait for this programme. No doubt, it'll be BAFTA nominated :)

I will however watch 'The Daily Show', Jon Stewart's a TOP fellow.

5. One serious matter of concern...
Is that tbere is at least one child in this world who got half his genes from David Blunkett, and the other half from Kimberly Quinn!!!

At least DB raised himself slightly in my estimation by wishing to have some responsibility/ contact with his son, rather than trying to wash his hands of involvement. However, even having raised himself slightly in my estimation, he's still VERY low down there - just a little bit above Tebbit and Thatcher!!

6. Yes, that was the ONLY time I've respected ANYTHING he's done
I give him kudos for thinking of the wee boy and wanting to be involved in his life and wanting to support him.

But Blunkett's a POS over everything else, he also comes across as being slightly demented, if I can be frank.

11. I like Taxloss a lot
I didn't want him to misconstrue my light-hearted comment. So...

I'm still a bit wary because of what happened the other day...so I'm trying to tread carefully on these here eggshells that are under my feet.

13. I don't understand what is going on here.
I saw J of T's original comment, and didn't think there was any harm in it ...

I'm concerned that people are reluctant to criticise/argue with me. I don't want some kind of "tough guy" persona.

16. Tough guy
You don't want to be some tough guy? Isn't it better to be a Heavyweight rather than to be a Featherweight? Isn't it better to be a Rocky Marciano rather than to be a Eusebio Pedroza?

Yes?

18. Blunkett threatens to halt TV satire
http://www.guardian.co.uk/guardianpolitics/story/0,3605,1557342,00.html

David Blunkett has threatened legal action against a satire scheduled for the launch of Channel 4's upmarket digital TV service, More4.

The programme, based on the former home secretary's affair with the Spectator publisher Kimberly Quinn, is designed to highlight More4's commitment to quality homegrown drama, current affairs and documentaries.

C4's chief executive, Andy Duncan, said he had received "phone calls and written contact" from Mr Blunkett and his lawyers about the programme, with the working title A Very Social Secretary.

It is believed that Mr Blunkett has reserved the right to launch legal action to stop the 90-minute comedy drama being shown on October 10, when the channel launches, and has claimed in a letter that whoever commissioned the show "must be weird".

Mr Blunkett, who has returned to the cabinet as work and pensions secretary since resigning after allegations that he fast-tracked a visa application for Ms Quinn's nanny, has yet to see the programme.

20. I wonder if they could weave this into the programme
The Blunket character realises that someone is making a satire about him and he tries to ban it.

Stick it on as an epilogue....I can hear Blunkett's head exploding from the rage now (if he EVER bothers to watch it, that is...)

23. Actually...
I can sympathize with his not wanting it to be aired if it's going to include his kids. I would also wish my family members to have their privacy.

But making a big public issue of it will just give it even more publicity. I'm reminded here of the tale of Sir Cyril Black, a very humourless Tory who was my parents' MP many years ago An American author, probably coincidentally, wrote a semi-pornographic novel in which the anti-hero just happened to be an Englishman called Sir Cyril Black. The real Sir Cyril then sued the author; was awarded some fairly small amount of money; but of course lots of people got to know about the book!

Loved 'Brass Eye' and 'Blue Jam', he's signed to Warp Records too, so he's obviously hip as well.

My personal favourite was when on 'Brass Eye', for a split second the words "Michael Grade is a cu*t" were flashed on screen!

'Um, I'm NOT sure if one can use the "c" word here, so I took the chickens option and used a *

the "Grade's a cunt" thang was in response to Grade pulling a segment called "The Yorkshire Ripper: The Musical" about a stage production of the serial killers life.

Cut to summer 2005 & the Edinburgh Festival & we have:

Murder in the Heart

An emotional journey through the mind of Britian's most notorious serial killer, the Yorkshire Ripper. Breathtaking operatic melodies tell a powerful story and capture the helplessness felt by the public at the time, 1975-1981.
