10. To answer your question..

If you have a blog, items scroll off the front page, so just linking to the front page will result in a link that doesn't link to what you thought it did, after a while.

In contrast, a permalink is a link that will continue to work "permanently" - at least until the blogger's site is shut down for justifying terrorism (or getting too close to The Conspiracy or because the blogger recovered their sanity, grew up, or just moved to a different site... etc...)

So if you link to a blog article, best to use the permalink, so the link will still work when others refer to your post in years to come..

Permalink is selling permanence, like marriage and permanent
