Are we reduced to government by fear?
Is that it? Are we to fear the government, as an agent just around
the corner, waiting to expose our moral infidelity, or can government
just give it a rest, and impose no social doctrine.

Isn't it all about multiculturalism in that sense, a rejection of the
foreign and the alien towards creating a mythical collective identity to
keep us all "british". And in the pursuit of freedom, can we not be
expected to reject imposed and foreign identities. And if egaletarianism
itself is "british", then what sort of thing is spread by tabloid
centrallist control freak warmongers that has a claim to be british.

And then its like a cultural dyslexia, where the conscience majority is
ignored by a control freakery minority that thinks in terms of war,
weapons proliferation and refitting nuclear armaments.

And what are these armaments for ? Fear? Then how can government
claim to represent goodwill? How can a cultural identity be based on
anything but respect for human rights? Since when is a small minority
of ruthless media barons permitted the liberty of corrupting civil
society by spreading the mind states of fear.

1. This government should be fearing the people,
in view of the appalling disasters it seems set on inflicting on us. Blair appears to have completely lost his head. Please tell me that it's not just wishful thinking to think that the British will not fall for the vicious crap that so much of the US seems to be gleefully eating up.
As someone who is proud of the things Socialism have done for this country, it's heartbreaking to see what Slimey Tony and his sharp-suited spivs are doing.
It's the '80s all over again, except that the ones who are fucking us over are vaguely faintly pink rather than true blue.

2. It is worrysome indeed
I noticed in a tabloid scan today, from the daily record to the
daily mail, the universal editorial standard is nihilistic banality
and if they are to rule the country, when why arn't they elected?

I really hope ken clarke comes libertarian and wins against blair on
a "freedom" platform. Its been too long tolerating a totalitarian after
so many opportunities, blair has squandered goodwill on killing,
and a police state of ever-expanding state employment.

And mediocrity abounds. Ken Clarke looks like he's found his spine, and
is gonna maybe invigorate something very different in the conservatives,
actual individual responsibility and privacy to smoke a fag and have it
be nobody's fucking business in your private life.... to shag a willing
adult of any pursuasion and have it be no body's fucking business...
oh were we to have honourable conservatives, standing for "fuck off
government invasiveness", then the ball could swing a 4th way, outside
the court of bush conservatism in to a wiser branch.

3.  Wow! If you exchanged the word
British with American---you would be saying what the majority of Americans are saying right now.
