What is wrong with passion? I have been told ,and I
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 10:54 PM by saracat
observe others on this board being told, that they have too much "passion" . We are told to be more calm and rational. Rational BTW is usually used to define anyone who "doesn't" feel the election was stolen.
The way I see it the problem is not that we have too much passion , but that as a country, we have too little. It is especially saddening to so so little passion on the side of the Democrats who could do so much to make a difference.

I heard a young Ukrainian girl speak on the news tonight. She was talking about the re vote in her country's presidential election and she said "Today I am so proud of my country" How jealous I was of her being able to say those words! I looked at the pictures of her countrymen pouring into the streets to protest a stolen election. How jealous I was that they were able to summon the passion as a nation to do that! We were a nation founded because some people had a passion for freedom. Is there anything we care about anymore other than what kind of car to drive or who won American Idol? I ask again, what is wrong with passion and when did it become a negative thing?

9. I agree, f' em
Passion is contagious. It only takes one or two people to get people motivated. The people on this board and others like it have kept this issue from being buried.

There are going to be detractors within the group as well as people on the outside trying to tear the group down. As long as we can agree to disagree with civility, we'll be fine.

7. I think that the passion I've seen on here
is a truly beautiful thing, and I hope it can continued with a similar fire. We are dealings with the things that matter, certainly on a macro level just about more than anything else it's good to care about them and it gives us a better chance of succeeding. Much of the right's current success was born through passion, and passion is what is needed now to make sure that the future is better than the present.

8. Its not only passion...
that we are lacking, but intelligence, truth, and civility are being eradicated as well, and all being replaced with an over-abundance of fear and uncertainty. It is so hard not to get dragged down in all the muck...it is sooooo crazy.
