THERE'S ONLY ONE SOLUTION: RECOUNT EVERY STATE. BY HAND.
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 08:18 AM by TruthIsAll
It should take all of about two days.

Recounting ONE state (Ohio) won't cut it.
They can fix the recount in so many ways.

If you are going to do a job, do it RIGHT.

Bush vote tallies exceeded the exit poll Margin of Error in 16 of 51 states.
NOT one was exceeded for Kerry.

The odds of this occurring by CHANCE:

************ONE OUT OF TWO HUNDRED TRILLION***********

Become a mathematician in one small step.

Type this into your Excel spreadsheet to get the probability P:
= 1 - Binomdist(16,51,.025,TRUE)

That's 4.9960E-15 or .0000000000000049996
Next calculate the ODDS: 1/P = 1 out of 200 TRILLION

That's equivalent to ONE BILLION BUSH TRIFECTAS ON ELECTION NIGHT.
Even Bush is not that lucky.

YOU WANT TO PROVE FRAUD? REALLY PROVE IT?
RECOUNT EVERY DAMN STATE.

1. There should be an automatic hand-count on Election Night.
One precinct per 500 citizens.

17. yes. It's time to go back to stone-age technology for voting
Put the red peg into the red hole for Bush, put the blue peg into hte blue hold for Kerry.

End of the day, somebody counts the frikkin' pegs in the bucket.

I am not joking.

2. It will never happen
very few state and county officials (both Dems and Repubs) will go for it, too expensive, too time-consuming, for too little-perceived benefit.

3. Sad but true
Interestingly, the billions spent on aquiring Diebold, ES&S and Sequoias to be put everywhere is not a $$ issue for them........but hand counting for a couple $$ is over the top!?

10. Add to that
all the millions spent on the campaign--trying to convince citizens to vote and for whom and why. Well, we did vote--now count the freeking ballots fairly.

We voted, now you count.

18. then it's time to get rid of all "high tech" voting
and go back to the oldest, most reliable voting system we can revert back to.

4. Suwannee County charged the Miami Herald
$35/hour to show them the ballots one by one.

For about $500 you can see all of the ballots in Suwannee County.

Based on the figures from Suwannee, you can recount Volusa for about $7000.

So it would not be that expensive to recount the whole country. Especially, since we can afford to spend a billion a week in Iraq. I think finding out the real totals in a Presidential Election is much more important.

13. Agree and let's reflect for a moment on...
....what the "Iraq election" has already cost us.

I suggest that we could pay for a hand count in every election for the next 100 years and still have plenty of $$$ to buy expensive champaign for the winners, losers, their staffs, ....what the hell, for every citizen who voted.

If you think that's an exaggeration then just think of the billions of dollars we've already spent in Iraq. And, then think about all the lives lost in the service of 'bringing democracy to Iraq.'

So, to anyone raising the argument about cost when it applies to the service of the most fundamental act of democracy, I think they are in need of a major dose of civics, the history of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to provide them the opportunity to vote, and the reality that when systemic disenfranchisement is even a potential issue, democracy is on its way to the sewer.

Peace.

5. can't hand count votes cast on touchscreen machines . . .
as many of us have been saying, repeatedly, for at least the last three years . . . anyone who didn't see this coming wasn't paying attention . . .

6. Of course. That's exactly the point. But opti-scammers and punched cards..
is how most of the voting was done.

Let's count everything we can first. Then we can talk about the thousands of touchscreen "gliches" - all in Bush's favor.

There is so much information out there. Let's put it all in context.

Rove probably never thought Kerry would seek a recount - because Bush "won" by 3.5 million. Not close.

In whoremedia fell for it at first, of course.

Now we are at Step One. They are coming around to recognize the fact that fraud DID occur.

In Step Two they will realize just how BIG it is.

In Step Three they will go after the story - of how it happened.

14. That's their problem
It is the Repug leadership that shoved these paperless sytems down our throats. It is the MSM you refused to adequately cover this issue before the election because they were too busy worrying about Laci Peterson.

Over and over again people like Glenda Hood and Jeb Bush told that these systems were totally reliable.

Now we are finding out they can barely add 1 + 1 and get the same answer twice.

There is no reason under the circumstances to accept George Bush has the next President of the Untied State. They can't prove he won. Too bad, George. Do not pass GO.

19. Yeah and the party that didn't do jack about it needs to be left to die
The Democratic Party had four years to deal with this and they let it happen.

They failed.

Now democracy is done in this country.

Buh-bye, Democratic Party. R.I.P.

9. Agree and....
....here is what I think we should all focus and make happen:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=101359&mesg_id=103158&page=

And, for those who say things like "...won't ever happen; can't happen; plan for 2006; moveon; take too much time; cost too much money;.........." -- my response is very simple:

"WRONG & Decide now: attack the steamroller or become part of the pavement."

Peace.

16. There is nothing more important that our country is facing right now
then to make sure that the next President really did get the majority of votes.

Especially since there are some many indications, that something went terribly wrong with these marvelous vapor vote machines, that their friends sold us.

23. Zero pride of authorship on anything I post here; if I make even...

Spread it, far and wide! And thank you for caring to ask.

22. why not count it right in the first place?
the repubs have stolen our vote-counting.

It is now meaningless.

We keep talking about "recounts" when the issue needs to be getting the count right in the first place.

Watch them admit they've stolen the vote counting here:
