who don't know what sex they are? I've lived here for over 10 years and I don't think I've even met one person in this town, who didn't know what sex they were?

2. The voter registration app
requires ID and that you check either male or female on the form. There is no provision for selecting other or ambiguous.

8. They Probably Left it Blank
A lot of people either don't want to be bothered or are worried about privacy for some reason.

Were you implying that incompletely filled out registration forms might be fraudulent? Hadn't thought of that. Maybe comparing to a national average might give a clue.

You could either say they didn't want anybody to know or just didn't fill that part out OR

There could be people that don't want to be objectified by their sex OR people who live as another gender.

7. Doublechecking:

Doesn't beg the question re:

"requires ID and that you check either male or female on the form. There is no provision for selecting other or ambiguous."

but if these colums are correct - "Other" got the high ones and Dems the next??

..............Total Voters/ Democrat/ Republican/ Other/ Libertarian/Green

SEX UNSPECIFIED 6,437/ 1,729 / 1,280 / 3,391 / 19 / 18

It is curious that they would allow this and not allow one without the check mark for citizen box filled in.

9. When asked questions about my race and gender,
I will often leave that blank. I don't think that it is relevant to identify myself that way all the time.

10. Not sure if this is still valid
since it's dated January 5, 1998.

* Florida requires little verification of registration information.

Florida currently does not require a voter registrant to provide a Social Security number or Florida Driver's License number. In fact, in 1997, Florida dropped the requirement that a registrant provide gender, race or ethnicity information when registering. When registering, Florida requires merely an "indication" that the registrant is a U.S. Citizen, is not a convicted felon, or is not adjudicated mentally incapacitated. While submitting a false voter registration application is a third degree felony (as of 1/1/98), the current trend to require little if any verifying information at the time one registers makes effective auditing, review, or investigative follow-up virtually useless to pursue. (Florida law allows the applicant to volunteer the information, but does not require that it be provided as a requisite for registration.) In reality, Florida has implemented a standard that is in essence little more than "trust me at my word alone" in registering to vote.

12. Florida Voter Registration Form
The application form does have a section for M/F, but it doesn't appear to be mandatory.

I don't know about your state's forms but CA's form need eyes that are no older than 45 yrs. old.

It is printed with light green ink on white paper.

The boxes that you are to circle are tiny.
