Kerry did NOT pay for the Washington Recount
He only donated $250K. Gregoire still needs $75K by 5 p.m. today.

GADS.

1. Will you keep the $NEED amount up to date during the day?
Although I really can't afford to donate, I will do so if it gets really close to the wire. I suspect others are in the same boat.

I gave all my recount $ to Kerry, and although I wish he'd cough up more, I am only hoping he might be saving it for his own recount.

2. I don't think that was the point of that post
It was mostly there to show that Kerry is helping out with what he can. The fact that Kerry has donated AS MUCH as he can should be A CALL OUT to anyone who supports Kerry. Kerry stepped up to the bat and donated what he could. Now it is your turn to help out as well. If you support Kerry then take it as a sign he is still trying to lead us and show us that there is a bigger fight. Please help out with this recount effort.

6. As much as he can?
You said Kerry donated as much as he can. Is there a legal limit on the amount a person can donate? Was $250,000 all he was allowed to give? I'm just curious.

5. I thought he had $52 Million available to litigate,
If he had the same "problems" that Gore did????

Why didn't he foot the whole bill for Washington???

8. Well...
It seems that we are not through fighting the Presidential race. Some of that money would probably be useful in paying lawyers salaries etc. John Kerry gave the bulk of the money to the DNC. Perhaps that would be a good place to focus your "why doesn't ________ cough up the money" questions.

9. Kerry or the DNC should pay the bill.
They can afford it and it is money well spent. There is a 50/50 chance that it will change the outcome and there aren't many bets for Democrats with odds that good.

11. He should contribute whatever it will take to get the job done.
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 09:30 AM by spotbird
There is no denying that $250,000 is substantial, but he can afford to see this through. It will help the Democrats in the long run if the recount is successful so it is certainly justifiable. It would be another matter if it were a stretch for Kerry, it isn't, so he should make sure this recount happens.

19. It is really time for the DNC
to step up and do something! I am so angry with the DNC that I could shake each and every one who has any leadership role there. Grassroots dems in this country have been left "holding the bag", while the so-called leadership remains mute. The DNC has done more in the last month to ruin this party (by doing NOTHING) than the republicans could ever do. Well, the next time I get their nice little note in my email box begging for money, they will get a "piece of my mind" but NONE of my money. I'm hearing a lot of other people saying the same thing.

21. the good thing is
is that we are all making connections that we never had before
and networking like never before. As long as we have the net we are going to be able to keep up our grass roots effort.

imagine this without the net. we are moving imformation around like crazy.

when I see something important on the net I spread it to every one I have in my email box and tell everyone at work who is interested in hearing.
