Just Received Email Back from the Ohio Chairman of the GOP
Here are the communications, starting with the most recent - my answer to his obnoxious reply:

I'm sure you do believe that the dems will lose again and again - and they will as long as the fraud and civil rights violations continue to exist - in your state and others. Your citation of money is truly myopic. The important thing is to defend the voting rights and methods that our nation uses. Money should never be an obstacle to that endeavor. And no, it is not time to "move on". It is time to stand and fight this cancer eating at our electoral system. Your comment about "conspiracy theories" is truly laughable! Literally thousands of "irregularities" have come forward. I don't see you guys explaining ANY of them to the satisfaction of the experts in the field. This does not fit into the category of "conspiracy theory". These examples of "irregularities" are out in the open for all to see. Now, there needs to be investigations to determine WHY they happened, WHO is at fault for them happening, and HOW to prevent them in the future. So, no Mr. Chairperson, we are not "moving on".

If you'd like to lose again and again, recount the votes as many times as you'd like. The end result will not change. Even the Kerry campaign has conceded as much. What I'm opposed to is the $1.5 million tab that taxpayers will get just to tell you and all the other conspiracy theorists out there what everyone else already knows.

This election is over. John Kerry has conceded. Ohio's votes have been counted and certified by 88 bipartisan Ohio boards of elections. George W. Bush will get our 20 electoral votes. And it's time to move on.

Subject: How Dare You?

How dare you criticize the Ohio Dems for supporting a recount in a state that was obviously used by the republican party to disenfranchise voters, lock-down voting counts, place machines in an effort to disenfranchise voters, use provisionals to disenfranchise voters, etc., etc.! While we understand and realize that the republican party - nationally - does not value the Constitution and would really rather that only Americans who support Bush (the Dictator) vote, the rest of us do not buy that philosophy.

Yes, recount the vote and expose every slimy dirty trick and fraud that you guys perpetrated. It is not about Kerry any more. It is about the survival of democracy. You, my friend, want to diminish democracy. The legitimacy of Bush has always been in question and will continue to be unless and until the "irregularities" are thoroughly investigated and it is proven to the American people - ALL of them - that Bush actually won. Right now, that is questionable. Now, there is an old saying that would apply in this situation with you - either Lead the effort for transparency, Follow the effort for transparency, or get the hell out of the way! We are going to push this until answers and REFORM are forthcoming. Even republican congressmen will ultimately be receptive because, unlike Dictator Bush, they WILL have to face re-election!

1. That's Rove's spin: look at these wasteful Dems
And the retort is simple: we can't afford another four years of Bush and his deficits.

2. "The results won't change" cause the crooks covered their tracks.
We have questions about - the 3mil popular - the padding of votes from CA to give Bush the lead. So many questions that these guys know the answers to. They're comfortable that the result will be the same... they really did cover their tracks didn't they?

How much pork was in it for Ohio? Anyone got that handy?

It'd be nice to show they are upset about 1 million to ensure an accurate election, but willing to pay X amount of money for (insert stupid project). I think we need that as a talking point.

13. Think of ALL the money
that will pour into Ohio if the media comes back. That's the approach to use on the pukes. Show them the money. Hell, they'll pimp out democracy in a second for a "media circus" if they think they can get in someone's wallet.

20. I'm fuming and I'm in Ohio
Here's the email I just sent:

I am extremely disappointed with your recent remarks regarding the Ohio recount. I am an Ohio voter who, like millions of others, joined the party this year for a singular purpose: to reclaim our government from the crooked, secretive, imperialistic administration that currently holds power.
For the first time in my adult life, I not only voted a straight Democratic ticket, I also donated both money and time toward what I thought was a unified effort to oust the Bush regime and once again restore the integrity of our democratic process.
Had I known this summer that the DNC really didn't care about such "lofty" ideals as counting the votes and protecting our democratic process, but instead was on a mission with a more selfish objective, I wouldn't have bothered.
Good luck with the issues that you now face, whether you care to acknowledge them or not: 1) Keeping the ABB (anyone but Bush) voters in the fold, without whom the DNC will once again wonder where its next contribution is coming from, and 2) ever again winning a national race when the votes are being "counted" by the Republican machine.
A former Democrat,
Nancy xxx

22. Um, Original Poster was corresponding with GOP, not the DNC
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 04:59 PM by emulatorloo
poster was complaining to the GOP about their shabby treatment of the Ohio Democrats.

It was the head of the GOP that is writing trayfoot back with all the horrible things.

Dems in Ohio are trying to do the right thing.

Trayfoot is exchanging emails w chairman@ohiogop.org - that's the one you want to write. . .
