1. He really ought to keep this up
Behave like the "government in exile"! He's got the Senate floor every day, he can attend funerals and other functions ... Invite Al Gore and John Edwards to come along!

10. NO - on the invites
This is NOT a political ploy nor a photo op situation. Being a nam vet, I think I know why he is doing this and I would not like to see it tainted by partisan politics. If you want a crass political reason for my NO, than just remember the repugs big stink about the Paul Wellstone funeral eulogies.

11. Lots of visitors from this thread
Wow. I just happened to check the sight meter on the Unofficial Kerry for President Blog, and saw it has really jumped up in the last hour, with hits from this post!

We've been a bit slow since the first week in November, despite lots of good post election material.

12. No!, John Kerry was elected on November 2nd!
Thanks for posting this picture.

Is very touching, indeed, and BTW, Kerry did not want publicity.

He is doing that because he feels is the righ thing to do.

How easy and hard at the same time...

18. Look at other pictures instead
If the picture linked to makes you cry, laugh at Bush instead. The same blog has several pictures today making fun of Bush, such as reports of him being arrested in Canada for war crimes. Plus, Science Friday looks at whether Bush is a man or chimp, and shows why Cheney cannot become President.

21. Blog entires on Presidents at funerals
Presidents and Funerals: No Hypocrisy Here

A conservative board has the following comment in a thread discussing the picture of John Kerry I posted here earlier today:

Did President Roosevelt attend any of the funerals of soldiers killed during his administration...did President Truman. How about President Kennedy or Lyndon Johnson or Jimmy Carter. Has any previous President ever attended the funerals of soldiers killed during their watch?????

Why do you hold President Bush to a standard that you hold no other President???

THE HYPOCRISY OF THE LEFT IS APPALLING.
http://messages.iwon.com/jsp/topicview.jsp?tid=560991&va=1

The answer is, yes, most Democratic presidents for whom there is data available have. No hypocrisy here.

Doing quick on line search I have not yet come up with information for Kennedy or Truman. Johnson, Carter, and Clinton all have attended funerals for soldiers who died on their watch.

On the GOP side, Nixon, Bush Sr. and the current President Bush have not attended funerals. Ronald Reagan, a man who I bet would have rejoined the Democrats if he was capable of seeing what the Republicans have degnerated into in the years since he left office, also attended funerals.

22. Maybe they are starting to realize what they did, by re-electing bubya?
I seen that Ron. Maybe it's sinking in? Maybe they are starting to realize just what they did? I thought that was a move to discredit Kerry, but this time I think it will back fire.

23. They don't get it
The people who posted on this appear to be Bush supporters and do not realize what they have done.

I guess we have Dubya some credit. He managed to turn the GOP into a party supporting big government, deficits, and a radical foreign policy which has undermined our national security, while still keeping the support of those who would have supported the opposite a few years ago.
