Poll question: Ukraine and US: In which country was there more election fraud?
Here, we have BBVs counting backwards and tabulation machines that were rigged by techs posing as Homeland Security and FBI agents. The exit polls showed Kerry won. The Ukraine had more help from International monitors than we did. Bush was backing the loser in the Ukraine.

1. If there was more here, why isn't there rioting in the streets?

4. At this time, most are complacent :(
This is an obvious fact. Forgive the pun, but it is the "elephant in the room".

WE can speculate all day about why we can only turn out 400 in Columbus, while Kiev had a quarter million (for 10 days yet!).

I saw a quote recently, and went something like this:

"Gee, you guys had us really worried for awhile - we thought you were actually going to DO something."

5. Age of democracy
There is no rioting in the streets because we no illusions that democratic elections are perfect. There is a history of vote fraud in our own "free" elections....this is something that they did not expect.

It all comes down to be a jaded old democracy.

(personally I think there should be more protests!)

3. More people equals
More fraud.

Violence may make for a more interesting story, but that doesn't change the fact that at least hundreds of thousands of votes in Florida and Ohio got flipped, and probably many more elsewhere.

8. Exit polls - how far off from "official" vote
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 12:47 AM by dlaliberte
One measure of the amount of fraud is how many votes got converted, lost, or added? I forget the figures for the US, in terms of overall popular vote (have we heard, actually?), but I know I haven't heard the figures for the Ukraine. How far off were they?

The question of which country had more fraud is ambiguous, however. Do you mean in absolute numbers - the total number of incorrect votes (a swap counts for two wrong) - or relative numbers in terms of a percentage of population, or percentage of all who voted?

9. I heard that we had a hand in the fraud over there too
Because we wanted the prowestern candidate in?

I read it in a thread somewhere - I have NO idea if it's true.
