3. That's true. Red hand has a long awful history in Ulster. But I think we

have enough distance and disimilarity in the logo that besides in Eire it won't be a problem.

But I didn't think it was exactly a one-time idea. I'd imagine it's been used before.

When you're in the advertising world (and I am by default, being a graphic designer), you realize, almost NO idea is original ;)

Thank you for putting up the site for protests: I hope there will be lots to post. I have to admit I find the image of a bloody hand a bit disquieting. Why did you choose it?

Note that there have been a coupld of threads about using the simple paper clip as a a symbol. This was used by the Norwegians when their country was invaded in WWII as a symbol of resistance & solidarity. The link:

10. Well, we got input from the entire DU for days and came up with it.

It is more related to the Red-Handed symbology than "Bloody" hands. That picture is not related to the Red Gloves :: Red Hands Movement

there are ancient red handprints in canyons and caves all over the Southwest.
I like the logo, lots of meaning.

9. Beautiful work -- I noticed something interesting

when I saw the site, I was reminded that Sheila Jackson Lee said tonight from the rally in Ohio broadcast over Pacifica, that she was wearing Red and White, the colors of the Solidarity Movement in Poland. She also mentioned that others (in the audience?) were wearing Orange, the colors Ukrainians are wearing. She encouraged us all to wear red or orange.

So cool everybody's in synch without even intending that.
