I got this in my e-mail and wanted to share it with you.....
Dear Friends,

When actress Susan Sarandon appeared on the Bill Maher show over the weekend, he asked her what's the biggest issue we face as a nation is.

Her reply was "voter fraud."

The usually knowledgeable Maher had no idea what she was talking about. When he asked, she replied:

"Something BIG is about to happen."

What I'm about to tell you is going to be hard to swallow at first. But if you're like most of us, once you start looking at the evidence, you'll scrape yourself off the ceiling, put your eyeballs back in their sockets, and you'll try to figure out what to do.

So here it is.

The highest crime in the history of our country took place on November 2nd. The evidence is now mounting (into a HUGE mountain) that the election was stolen. There is already a congressional investigation underway and a consumer investigation (headed by Ralph Nader).

Electronic voting machines that were manufactured by supporters of the Republican Party were used to alter the will of the people.

The internet message boards and chat rooms are bursting with talk about this. You can wait another couple days to hear about it in the mainstream media, or you can read on. Just remember where you heard it first.

I will outline the key points in this email and provide a link with much more information at the bottom. More information is coming out literally by the minute.

The election was stolen with not just one tactic, but with several.

KEY POINTS:

1) "Black Box" Electronic Voting Machines: The key to it all was the use of electronic voting machines, that produce no paper trail. These were manufactured mainly by the two companies ESS and Diebold. Both of these companies are big supporters of the Republican Party. Walden O'Dell, the owner of Diebold, said in a 2003 fundraising letter that he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year." Similarly, Chuck Hagel, the owner of ESS used his own machines to get elected to the United States Senate in Nebraska. A bill was introduced in the House and Senate to outlaw these machines and require a paper printout of each vote so that they could be verified and/or recounted. The bill was stalled by the Republican Party, led by Senate Majority Leader Tom DeLay, and it was not allowed to come to vote. Shortly after the November 2rd election, countless stories of problems with the machines began to surface. Many people tried to vote for Kerry and said that when the final confirmation screen came up it said they voted for Bush. In one precinct in Ohio, 4,258 votes were given to Bush were there were only 638 registered voters. Many more stories about the black box voting machines, their problems, and the investigation into their tampering are circulating. Blackboxvoting.org <http://blackboxvoting.org> is leading the way in the investigation to proving the results were tampered with.

2) Exit Polls: Exit polls were taken in every state. In those states that had verifiable paper trails for their ballots, the exit polls were virtually the same as the real results. However, in the states where electronic voting machines were used, the exit polls were mysteriously very different from the final reported totals. You can view the exit poll data directly yourself with the link at the bottom of this email

3) Unusual Results: In the areas where computers were used to cast votes or tally them, some very strange results have surfaced. Here is just one example. In Baker County, Florida, there are 12,887 registered voters, 69.3% of them regsitered Democrats and 24.3% of them Republicans. The vote was only 2,180 for Kerry and 7,738 for Bush. Are we supposed to believe that 5 out of every 7 registered Democrats voted for Bush??? This pattern repeats itself in many Florida counties. You can view all the raw data for every Florida County at the link at the bottom of this email

4) Shenanigans: In addition to the electronic voting machines, there was widespread voter intimidation and disenfranchisement on Election Day. In many democratic areas, people waited hours to vote, while Republicans "challenged" voters' rights to vote, forcing them to fill out a provisional ballot instead of a real ballot. The provisional ballots were not counted on Election Day and we may never know how many of them there were, or what rules will be used to qualify them. Flyers were sent to democratic areas with an array of false information on them. People were told their voting precinct had changed, that their voter registration was not valid, or that they would go to jail of they tried to vote. The list of shenanigans goes on and on. You can see the some of the flyers that were sent out and read about more of the shenanigans at the link at the bottom of this email.

5) Investigations: This is not conspiracy theory. This is not heresay. There is evidence. There are witnesses. There are investigations underway. Three Congressmen have sent a letter to the General Accountability Office requesting urgent action and an investigation. Ralph Nader is leading a consumer investigation into voter fraud countrywide, and has already filed an official challenge to the voting results in New Hampshire. You can read the letter to the GAO and more about Nader's efforts at the link below.

They will call us sore losers. They will have their lawyers and computer experts, too. They will refute the evidence. But the truth is on our side and we will prevail.

Here is the link to the information, if you would like to look into the details and become more aware of the biggest story about to break.

http://www.solarbus.org/stealyourelection

What we need now is for the information to get out to more people. The mainstream media will bury this until it's shoved down their throat. So please forward this email to your friends and family. If every person tells three other people, everyone will know before the media decides to wake up.

Peace,

Gary Beckwith

Note: This came from a friend of mine.I don't know if this has been posted here or not. Buff2

3. Reminds me of what they said in 2000 really
Of course now we blame the voting machines (and have a better case and cause to consider). But forgive me if it sounds like redux. People are complacent on this whole thing (even some dems I know). The fire is waning.

I don't mind focusing on all this (it needs to be done) but I also think now is the time to focus on a lot of other areas too (like news coming out of the goverment, new legislation, et al). One hand focusing on the voting issues, the other on new ones.

The problem we have is one of leadership right now. If kerry/edwards were out everyday enforcing this message it would help. If other dems were out each day doing so it would help. But the middle of the road dems shrug it all off and keep going, and the other half of the country voted *.

Wanna make it an issue? Call on congress to use diebold machines for votes in congress, no paper trail, etc. See how fast they bitch about it then :)

19. This is the only issue
Really. If this doesn't get resolved, the "day to day" stuff doesn't matter. Did you ever hear the old saw:

"There are four boxes you can rely on for defending democracy: Soap, Jury, Ballot, and Ammo; use them in that order."

Look how far down the list we've come, and tell me again that there are "other areas" we need to focus on.

4. Well, maybe someone should ask Bill Maher and Ms Sarandon...
...."Did Bush Know?"

I don't watch Bill Maher or any tv, but I'd sure be interested if anyone has a transcript of that dialogue or a pointer to an online link.

I have no doubt Ms Sarandon is informed and committed.

Peace.

And, in case you missed it, "Did Bush Know?"

6. I've heard Bush met with Blackwell in Ohio on Election Day.
Blackwell denied it on Keith Olbermann. If we can prove that, Blackwell clearly lied. And if he lied about something serious like that, what else would he lie about?

And I still want to know where I can find a total tally of how much money the Republican SOS's throughout the nation got from HAVA....

20. Here ya go
http://www.safesearching.com/billmaher/print/t_hbo_realtime_110504.htm

SARANDON: Well, first of all, we should deal with voter fraud. You know, I was so naïve. All this stuff about the provisional voting. You know, I thought that that stuff was really going to count. And they were challenging all these people. And just, you know, they’re never even going to look at them. I mean, they’ve got this system in Ohio with the—

MAHER: Because he lost. Come on. He lost. He lost. By a lot. He lost by over three—

SARANDON: Well, I’m not – you know, they just – wait a minute. You’d better tune in to some of the other channels. They’re finding all kinds of – one area in Ohio: 628 people registered to vote. Bush got 4,000 votes. You know, that’s a little bit – there’s a lot of irregularities.

He did lose and he’s not going to win.

MAHER: But come on—

SARANDON: But I’m saying, this black box thing, and the hanging chads and the provisional vote. This was not the way voting is supposed to work.

MAHER: But this – okay, but this is not 2000 when the Democrats weren’t prepared for it. They had an army of lawyers in that state. You’re telling me that that army of lawyers didn’t keep it square and fair?

SARANDON: I sure am. And in New Hampshire, too. And you’re guy, Ralph Nader, is very close to filing something about what went on in New Hampshire.

MAHER: Oh, now he’s my guy?

SARANDON: Well, “our” guy.

MAHER: Boy, you got away from him pretty quick.

5. I'll keep saying it until I'm blue in my face..................
In parallel to the effort to find voter fraud, we should be conducting extensive canvassing of Democrats and Kerry-Republicans in selected state precincts to either validate or refute our assumptions. I, too, think there is a systematic case to be made that the vote was stolen.

But here are the problems....

(1) The Republicans have had weeks to fix the raw data. While some problems can still be exposed, I don't think it will show the magnitude of the problem.

(2) We don't have a mainstream media that is sympathetic to our story. Their combined actions on "locking down" any real discussion or conducting investigative analysis should tell us this. In fact, I suspect that they are now working on a new meme that will ridicule the whole electoral movement. If we can't produce the evidence, we are cooked.

So we need to canvass and see if we are correct that there is widescale election fraud. We need to convince Democrats that this is in their best interests (I think that's the easy part) to sign an affidavit atesting to who they voted for.

Secret ballots + Republican voting machines + Republican counting = loss of our democracy.

The one right after the election ... so the Nov. 5 episode I think.

I taped it, and then when I heard about people on here talking about Susan S. I went back and rewatched it - she did say that, and she really pushed the point. :)

I was just in such shock/disbelief/depression that I didn't catch it the first time around.

10. this is great, but...
am i missing something?
in this particular e-mail, i don't see anything new that followers of this story here on DU and elsewhere don't already know. It is a good summary of what we know so far, but all of this has been already reported here and elsewhere.

is all of this a quote from susan sarandon?
is the show a repeat from earlier in November?
we've known about the fliers, and a loty of these shenanigans have been documented already here and elsewhere.

why no mention of the lawsuits being filed, the ohio recount, the washington recount, the involvement of the greens and libertarians, thye GAO investigation, the Fisher allegations, the Madsen Allegations, the FBI investigations into the Fisher allegations...

maybe i should shut up and go to the website. i mean, i don't doubt the veracity of any of this, but it strikes me as common knowledge among DU political junkies...

is it that this has been said on a major network show?

help me out here, what am i missing about this?

16. God Bless Susan Sarandon!
A REAL Christian if ever I saw one! Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.

But as for your analysis of the Florida panhandle counties - those counties have been trending conservative for quite some time, as have many of the rural Democratic counties in Alabama and Georgia as well.

But if Susan Sarandon is now saying that something BIG is about to happen, God I'm just rubbing my hands together with glee!

Ahhemm!!

This is not unexpected, just bizarre. It is due to the dixiecrat phenomenon, where people registered as democrats vote for republican presidential candidates. They have in past elections as well. See this story for more details: http://www.bluelemur.com/index.php?p=403

However, the interesting thing is that if we compare counties of all sizes and persuasions, Bush got more votes than deserved in paperless counties when compared with counties that have paper trails. For more details here is another bluelemur story (Google likes bluelemurs) http://www.bluelemur.com/index.php?p=435

39. OK, I'll fix it :)
You are right, that is one of several things I need to update on the site. I'll do it tonight.

I think I can make the case without referencing the blue lemur. I believe it is the Cal Berkeley study that lays it out. That page on my site is the introduction, so I don't need to get into all the details. I can just say that studies done by university professors have shown an unexplanable correlation between voting patterns and type of voting machines in Florida. I'll work on the exact wording and put it up there asap.

Thank you for helping. If you want to work with me more directly on it let me know at gary#solarbus.org you know what to do with the # symbol.

i'll post something here when I've udpated the site and ask for your feedback.

it's all about teamwork.

28. I wrote that email..............................
Hi, Gary Beckwith here.

I wrote that email, 3 or 4 days after the election, when I first put up a website listing about a dozen of articles that were starting to be published about voting irregularities on 11/2.

I was running a website on my educational project called the Solar Bus. It's a solar powered school bus that I take to schools and public events to show people the possibilities of solar energy and alternative fuels.

I had been following the Diebold story for about a year. After election day, I saw all kinds of hubbub going on the DU and also the Randi Rhodes discussion board. I felt it was necessary to move the info from the esoteric message board world to the world wide web.

When I put up the website, I had to do something to let people know about it. I had a mailing list that was for the Solar Bus, which had nothing to do with voter fraud. There were about 200 people on the list.

I typed up that email (I found that Susan Sarandon quote on DU) and sent it to my list. I also posted a link on the Randi Rhodes discussion board (I did not have an account at DU yet, and the registration function had been disabled).

What happened after that continues to amaze me. It is a testament to the power of the internet, which we should not underestimate.

Before that email, the Solar Bus website got 20 to 100 hits a day. I'm guessing several of the hits were from web spiders, not people.

Since that email went out, the Solar Bus website has gotten over 100,000 hits, currently averaging 4,000+ per day. The server has crashed at least twice. The counter (which you can view at the bottom of the page) broke 3 times and the web hosting service said it wasn't designed for the number of hits I was getting, so they gave me a different counter.

All this started with an email that I sent out to 200 people who didn't really have any reason to be concerned about voter fraud.

Now a month later, the email is still circulating. On a regular basis, people send it to me, as a news item or as an FYI, without realizing that I originally wrote it. A friend of mine that I lost touch with 10 years ago got a copy of it and emailed me. Now it's come full circle, back to DU.

All I can say is keep it coming.

The Solar Bus website has become more than a hobby for me. Since 11/2, I've been sleeping about 2-3 hours a night. I've gotten calls from the New York times and Jeff Fisher (at 2am nonetheless, and I was awake, working on the site!). Hundreds of people have signed up for my mailing list (and I'm over a week behind in adding names). I've been updating the website several times a day, trying to keep it the most current and easy-to-navigate site on the stolen election.

My biggest problem now (besides the lack of sleep) is keeping up with all the stories. I sometimes have to post links to articles I haven't read completely. And it's really difficult to decide what to post at the top of the page when so much important stuff is going on at the same time.

As most of you probably understand, I'm not doing this for notoriety. I'm doing this because this is the most important issue we face as a nation. Nothing else matters if our votes don't count. I've been an advocate of solar energy, the environment, and a slew of other issues for decades. But for now, I'm putting all of that aside, because if we don't fix these problems the other issues don't matter.

Bev Harris has said, we are the media. You can criticize her personality, but in this case her words are true. It's amazing what a single email to 200 people can do.

Now let's all get back to it. We've got work to do.

peace,
gary

P.S. yes, I know DeLay is the House Majority Leader, not the Senate Majority Leader. It's been corrected on the website but there's nothign I can do about the emails that keep floating around. There are a couple other details in the email that have been updated as well. If you get the email and you want to forward it to other people, please fix the DeLay thing before you send it!

and oh yeah, I simplified the URL to the website. you can now get there like this:

http://solarbus.org/election

pretty soon this will work too:

http://election.solarbus.org

31. The early word catches the meme
Edited on Sun Dec-05-04 09:25 AM by dlaliberte
It is great that you sent that message out. You should feel proud. You probably got more peoples' attention at that time because they were primed and ready for it.

However, you need to correct the bit about the unusual results in Baker county, which I wrote about in message 21. On your web site, you still have the error that is in you email: http://www.wbai.org/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=4340&Itemid=2
You do go on to cite the general problem with electronic voting, but the mixup with the dixiecrat phenomenon just obscures the fact. The fraud is usually more subtle, except for a few cases which standout and people will tend to forgive them as excusable as long as they were caught and corrected. People will discount the whole problem because of confusions such as this.

The little bit of media coverage on the election fraud that we got a couple weeks ago tended to focus on the dixiecrats and say, see, there's no problem.. go back to your regularly scheduled lives.

Thanks for your attention to this matter. And thanks for your activism that helped get the ball rolling.

32. pissed off in pa
This post reminds me of something that has me really pissed off...there have been theories on why John Kerry has justifiably not openly participated in the fraWd discussions - but WHERE have all the "celebrity", high income, visible "supporters" been????? What do they have to lose? Most of us DUers are regular joe smo invisibles who do all we can to spread the word but have to deal with normal everyday life /works/kids/to survive and can't devote much time or money to get the word out. Can anyone give me examples of ANY celebs who have done ANYTHING since Nov. 2???? Don't you think if even a few of them got together and made a statement / ran some ads/ whatever/ the star obsessed masses would finally notice?

34. yep... but
why were they so vocal before the election and now nothing?
Kerry had more celebs behind him than any candidate I can remember! Are they all that self centered and absorbed in their own $ and fame? sad.....

40. UPDATE from the author of that email
As referenced above in this thread, I'm the author of that email and the webmaster of the SolarBus.org/election website.

A few people pointed out a couple things I should fix in it. I can't change the emails that are floating around but I've changed it on the Intro page to the solarbus website.

Mainly I took out the dixiecrat claims, and I also added more info on the congressional investigations.

I could use your help, check it over and let me know if anything else needs fixing.

here it is:
