I'm helping out the Cobb presidential campaign by working to increase WA media attention on the OH and NM recounts. The timeframe for this project is about 10 days, which is really short.

Guerilla marketing uses unconventional means of distributing a message.

Viral marketing describes any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message's exposure and influence. Viral marketing often comes about because of "buzz".

Before the election I was using guerilla marketing in my GOTV street canvassing. Some DUers did join me but it was not nearly enough to create media buzz. People of course were phone banking, canvassing and writing LTTES, all of which were very important before the election. Now that we have time on our hands and an army of hopefully willing participants, IMHO a brilliant way to take the next step and get the word out to those who do not frequent lefty web sites is:

What we can do right now is use poor man's advertising and free delivery systems, ie. DUers to spread the immediate message, that the election was fraudulent.

Right NOW we at DU CAN just like the mean girls in highschool start a whisper campaign against the chimp's reputation. How you ask? By using guerilla and viral marketing techniques. That means using unconventional means of delivering a message that creates buzz, ie viral marketing.

I had hoped to plaster Columbus at the rally yesterday with both BUSH CHEATED & Blackwell RECUSE, but the wind was so bad it would have been impossible. I did however do some bus stop shelters and utility poles near campus yesterday in Cincinnati and none of my handiwork has been peeled off.

Can you imagine a BET show with Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton telling it like it is and getting the voter fraud info out to the people? BET has its own daily newscast, I believe, and there are also several AA interest magazines with a large readership. If we can get these media venues to air info on the vote fraud issue, especially since black folks are the main victims of voter disenfranchisement, it might succeed in breaking the media lockdown and force mainstream outlets to begin covering this issue in earnest. It also could play a major role in jump-starting the kind of large scale protests we need to get people's attention. Think of this strategy as the left's answer to the religious right's use of CBN/700 Club to reach its core audience. I really believe this could have an impact.

We need every citizen to know what the already well documented systemic disenfranchisement issues are in the still underway national election.

For starters, our fellow citizens need to know IT'S NOT OVER.

Pragmatic approach -- make sure c-span, Air America, Pacifica radio, Olbermann are all on the scene and covering Rep Conyers hearing on 8 Dec 2004. And, get someone like Aaron Brown or Lou Dobbs of CNN to be at that hearing and cover it live for CNN. We have this major opportunity on 8 Dec 2004 to force the issue into every airport, home, computer, ..., in the world. If the other networks know CNN is going to be on the scene at that hearing, they'll all be there, as well.

Right now we must use any means possible. I esp like the idea of trying to get big newspaper ads in major big-city markets for the short term. Excellent idea and well worth it for the exposure. Can get that going quickly. Goes without saying to continue to create visibility on the net, and I think the ideas here on expansion on the net are right on target.

PRIORITY NUMBER 1 WILL TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION...

2. Start immediately to visualize a new TV outlet.

If AA is one to do it, OK, but that remains to be seen. In my vision,
this outlet does not have to be perfect. Just start talking Truth. The reality TV analogy is true--a little bit rough is real. Slick is not all that desirable, although must still reach a certain standard for professionalism. I think our downtrodden audience would be so grateful, they would FORGIVE a lot?! We have been so abused by slick media presentations that it has an aversive effect after awhile. Make liberal use of artists, writers, musicians performers, comedians. Good interviews, discussions on the issues. I'd love to see this happen.

Continue to discuss this. In the brainstorm period, no idea is too outlandish. Let's kick it around. We have the numbers. No need to think small. Let's write out the proposal. What do we want to see such a TV outlet consist of? Post it here. When we get that together, then we can put it out to key people. People who have the vision, not only the money (OK vision and money together would be ideal)--but vision first, then support ideas... then we could take a survey here on this site to see if others would support it.

I could go on all night on this. Have also wanted to see this happen. I hate trying to beg for crumbs from existing media when we could just create our own reality. It seems so much more postive. Not to say we shouldnt chip away at MSM, but I think we should dare to imagine....something completely different

Wouldn't it be great if he published a pamphlet we could get from amazon.com or something that had all the essentials like the 20 things Americans should know (I'd add a few like if 5 congressmen won their elections in 2002 by the exact same number). 5) We need to LINK ALL OF THE GROUPS TOGETHER- there are hundreds of us now out there - how can we do this and form one big umbrella organization? There are web pages showing them all- but we need ONE MAJOR GROUP to oversee this and coordinate the efforts for rallies, fund raising, campaigns, etc. Any ideas on how to approach this?

Google News.

Google News, a news aggregator that boasts millions of reads per day,
works strictly by computer algorithm -- choosing its main headlines
and prioritizing news stories based on how the rest of the net links

We can make this work to our advantage.

Take, for example, the case of 'Bush's Arrest by Canadian Authorities'
a satire by lefty website, Axis of Logic. The story made it to the top
of the heap at Google News as Bush was busily invading our neighbors
to the north.

As always, the prime ingredient in ensuring that specific stories
attain such a level of exposure is 'coordinated intervention'. The
Progressive web must band together and agree to target specific
stories on a daily basis. This could be established via a centralized
progressive organization that lists the 'stories of the day'...or
hour...or whatever. Member sites, which could number in the thousands,
would then link to that story using specific key words.

The greatest hurdle, as usual, is the challenge presented by
organizing such an effort, and convincing the notoriously independent
lefties to swallow their indy-pride for a moment and instead work for
the greater practical good of the overall progressive ideology.

Unfortunately, since we at PoliticalStrategy.org already have multiple
projects in the works, we are unable to put together such an effort at
this time.

1. Sell ad sponsorships on e-bay for preworded "SAVE OUR VOTES" or "SAVE DEMOCRACY" OR "BOOT BUSH" ads, your choice. Or all of the above. Highest bidders gets to have their name listed at the top as the lead sponsor. Anybody else who wishes to contribute may have their name listed below. Ads will run in major newspapers, with size and distribution of ads dependent on size of winning bids and other contributions. In your item description, list pertinent facts about voting fraud and links where anyone reading can learn more and take action. E-bay has 3-day auctions, so this could start NOW and be done extremely fast.

2. Ask Hollywood celebrities to contribute to run newspaper ads, full page in major papers nationwide. Also infomercials. There are short and long ones. If the networks won't run it, try the shopping channels. Maybe they'd even let you sell ad sponsorships there.

3. Direct mail flyer request urgent help to stop the voting fraud. Send one to every single household in America, or at least to every registered voter. If there's not enough money for that, start with Dems, Greens, Independents and Libertarians.

4. Pop-Up ads on the main page for MSN and other high-traffic sites. Include ads on big shopping sites like Amazon.com, which will be visited a lot by holiday shoppers. "STOP THE STOLEN ELECTION" or something grabby.

5. Spam: Find a professional spammer who knows the rules and legalities. We all hate spam, but it works to reach a lot of people at one time.

6. TV ads: Major sporting events or popular sit-coms would be best to reach a lot of people at one time, but it's questionable whether networks would run these. Maybe ESPN.

7. Radio ads: The conservatives run ads on Air America. Might radio networks besides Air America be willing to run our paid ads?

8. Billboards: Works for "I am your leader," why not us?

9. Paid advertising inserts in major newspapers.

10. March in holiday parades: I saw peace marchers in an LA Holiday Parade. We should march in the Rose Parade and anything else that's sooner.

11. Drop leaflets from airplanes--is this legal?

12. Leaflet cars at the major shopping malls, if legal. Dispatch DU teams in each city to cover a mall a day during the holiday season.

13. Get some churches on our side. E-mail pastors of all but the most rabid fundamentalists with a thoughtful flyer exposing all the hateful, hurtful things this administration is doing that are dangerously close to fascism. Include synagogues, too. Also reference voting fraud, with a "thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not lie" reminder. Ask what Jesus would have thought about the non-humanitarian things Bush is promoting. Urge them to do their moral duty and alert their congregations to the moral danger facing our country from Bush and the neocons, whose policies are hurting the poor, the sick, the children, the elderly--all those people Jesus wanted us to help.

that contain an analysis of the discrepancy between the exit polls and the official vote tallies. These 3 reports were written by Dr. Steven Freeman of the University of Pennsylvania, myself, and Truth is all. They all come to basically the same conclusion, but each also contains some unique features that the others don't.

In Ohio alone, the probability of the amount of discrepancy occurring by chance is 1000 to 1. In the main 11 swing states combined (all which were more favorable to Bush in the "official" tally than in the exit polls), the probability against that much discrepancy occurring by chance was over 25 million to 1.

224. Some suggestions about copy

I've been reading a lot of articles and letters about the fraud recently and I've found that a lot of the stuff, while well written, is difficult to read.

1. There are usually way too many details. Imagine someone reading a few dozen letters (hopefully hundreds!) about voter fraud: Their brain is going to turn into mush very quickly.

So keep the letters as succinct as possible, using only the most blatant, solid examples to back your case. Lesser details will sound like rambling and will only help confuse/bore the reader.

2. Use lots of paragraph breaks. This is fairly complex stuff and people's eyes tend to glaze over when they hear the words "statistics" and "polls," even when they are well educated. Keep the sentences short, the paragraphs short, and the pace snappy.

3. Simplify your language. Don't use fancy words when common ones will do. Try to write for the average bright 8-year-old. If a child can understand it, you're one step ahead of the game.

4. People like lists. A lot of folk seem to like the "20 Amazing Facts About Voting in the USA" list at http://nightweed.com/usavotefacts.html. Change it as suits your needs.

5. Please proofread your stuff! Nothing diminishes your credibility faster than poor spelling and grammar.

December 3, 2004) — About 100 protesters rallied Thursday across from the offices of the Democrat and Chronicle, saying they were not satisfied by news coverage of what they called election fraud in this year's presidential election.

The protesters discussed circumstances from Ohio to Florida to Pennsylvania that, they said, seemed to stack the election toward President George W. Bush.

A few members of the group said they witnessed election problems first-hand and have tried to convey their stories to the media, to little or no avail. Vicki Lewin Ryder of Rochester was in Palm Beach County, Fla., on Election Day as a volunteer with the nonpartisan Election Protection Program — a group that tried to ensure that proper voting procedures were followed — and said she saw "voter suppression and voter intimidation."

III) Suspects : Is there any reason to be suspicious
of the Computer Voting companies?

No less than 5 of Diebold's developers are convicted felons, including Senior Vice President Jeff Dean, who tops
the list with his twenty-three counts of felony Theft in the First Degree.

Mr. Dean was convicted of all 23 felony counts of theft in the First degree by - and this should raise Red Flags to any
objective person - planting back doors in his software and using a "high degree of sophistication" to evade detection.

The above information comes from Case File No. 89-1-04034-1 (State of Washington ):

So we have someone who pleaded guilty to 23 counts of embezzlement, who is given the position of Senior programmer
of the (Diebold) GEMS central tabulator system that counts approximately 50 percent of the votes in the (Bush-Kerry) election,
in 30 states, using both paper ballot and touch screen machines.

And while Felons are not allowed to vote in the United States, they are allowed to write the software that is used
to count millions of the votes for the United States Presidential Election.

And their software is proprietary, with reported results that cannot be verified by a paper audit trail , since none exists.

Both ES & S and Sequoia, the other 2 main Computer Voting companies, also have a track record of criminal behavior, which can easily be verified by checking the legal histories of these companies.

IV) Bullet point summation of the most serious 2004 Presidential
Vote total errors found so far :

In addition to the 57,000 Voter complaints concerning Voter disenfranchisement, broken down or insufficient
voting machines, received by People for the American Way, below is a bullet point summary of some of the most serious
Presidential Election errors found so far, which are almost certainly just the tip of a large iceberg :

-The almost 4,000 votes awarded to Bush in Columbus, Ohio, reported by the AP, which was only noticeable because more votes were recorded in the precinct than there were registered voters.

-Apx. 4,500 votes lost in one North Carolina county.

-3,000 phantom votes were added by a Nebraska "vote tabulator" which doubled the votes.

-22,000 North Carolina votes which later had to be added because the computer initially discarded them due to system overload.

-A glitch in San Francisco computers which caused many votes to be uncounted.

-Florida's anomalous results where only districts with touch screen voting had disproportionate votes for Bush than expected.
This analysis has since been duplicated by a UC Berkeley professor and others.

-AP reports in Florida and Ohio of voters who stated when using touchscreens, when they selected "John Kerry,"
that instead "George Bush" would appear on the screen.

-Long lines in urban Ohio areas, to the point where voters left in frustration after 8 or so hours.

-21 voting machines in Broward County, Florida, malfunctioned, eliminating prior votes that had been cast on them in this most-Democratic county in the state.

-Warren County, Ohio's, refusal to allow independent monitoring of vote counting based on a terrorist incident which turned out later to not exist.

- Machines in Oklahoma counted BACKWARDS for Kerry, with a net result of Sen Kerry losing 37,982 votes to the ES&S Optech Machines.
During the same time period President Bush gained 393,825 votes.

-Malfunctioning vote cassettes in Palm Beach, FL.

-Boxes of absentee votes discovered after the election in a Broward County election office.

- In Cleveland, Heavily Democratic wards, such as Precinct 6-C and precinct 13-F, reported less than 20 % turnout, despite record turnout in most cities :

V) Conclusion : - Means, Opportunity, and Criminal Track Record
exist, justifying an Investigation into a matter of this
importance.

The above facts show that the Means, the Opportunity, and a Criminal track record of those involved in writing the Computer Voting Software all exist, and these 3 points taken together, along with the vast discrepancy between historically accurate Exit poll data and the reported Computer voting results in swing states, point to a very strong possibility that Fraud did occur on a massive and significant scale in this months Presidential Election.

At the very least, an independent investigation is needed to look into these serious matters, not only to be sure who the winner of the last election was, but also to insure that our Election voting procedures are safe, accurate, secure, and fair for future elections in our Country.

Please make sure that Future Generations will have the sacred American right to vote and to be sure there
vote is recorded accurately, by supporting the members of Congress who have called for an Investigation.

I'd like to finish by saying that it would be a great tragedy if the citizens of the Ukraine are allowed to have a recount to verify that their recent National Elections were valid , while the citizens of the United States, the greatest Democracy on Earth, are not granted that same right.

Do the Ukrainians have more Courage and more fighting spirit to keep their newly won Democracy, than we Americans have ?

Does the Ukrainian opposition party have more Courage and dedication to Democracy and to a Just and Fair Election than the leadership
of the Democratic Party has here in America, which was the Democratic model and Ideal that inspired so many foreign people, including
the ex Soviet satellites, to cast off their Tyrannical governments, so that they could become Democracies themselves?

Can it be that America, the Beacon of Democracy, is a nation where their President is decided by an election where the votes are counted, using propiertary software, by 3 corporations that have both criminal records and heavy financial ties to the Republican Party, and of whom one of their CEO's, Walden O'Dell openly boasted that he would deliver the Electoral Votes of Ohio to Mr. Bush ?

Please now take a stand and help our Country end this long national nightmare of fear mongering, deceit, and subversion of
our Constitution, by aiding those Brave Congressional Representatives who are calling for an investigation into the overwhelming questionable report vote totals in several key swing states, especially Ohio and Florida.

The Ukrainian Parliament has just taken steps to demand a new election in their country, after the widespread fraud that occurred there.

171. Calling the Ukrainian kettle "flawed" -- our own election theft

Since a few others have posted their recent letters, I am posting a letter I submitted last night to the Nashville Tennessean and (slightly edited) to the Washington Post. I think any effort we make to increase the MSM coverage of the election theft at this precise moment should begin with the assumption that most MSM readers will have only minimal and passing knowledge of what we know. Consequently, we need to be "short and sweet" with our letters, since most newspapers won't print long-winded ones anyway. But if your local paper/TV station gives you any foot in the door (say, by mentioning the Conyers et al hearing today or tomorrow in their coverage), then like all good Salepeople for Democracy, we need to pounce.

You will note that I made no mention of the Curtis revelations or the Conyers et al hearings in my letter. However, I did reference Curtis in the intro to my letter, and had already sent a link to last night's Bradblog article directly to the Tennessean's letters editor (who has published my submissions before, so she would probably recognize my name) to loosen her up for my letter, which followed within an hour.

So here's what this very frustrated backwoods "yellow dog" had to say to middle Tennessee's paper of record (as well as to the WashPost) last night. Hope its brevity is a helpful model. Peace, out.

To the editor:

Thanks for your 11/30 editorial cartoon which showed Bush speaking with Putin about election fraud reports. When Bush says, "I'm a little disturbed about Ukraine", Putin responds "I'm a little disturbed about Ohio." Given how much election fraud evidence has now been uncovered in our country, Putin could have added "... and Florida, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, Washington, Iowa ... (etc, etc, ad nauseum)."

Since 11/2, the nonpartisan Election Incident Monitoring System has logged over 37,000 (and counting) reports of election irregularities and voting machine "glitches", 99.99% of which favored Bush. Numerous voters have reported that the electronic votes they cast for Kerry registered instead for Bush or another candidate. The total votes reported cast for President in many U.S. counties exceeded the total number of people who voted. (In Wyoming, with no important state races at stake, the total reported vote for President was 106% of the total registered voters there.)

In too many states, absentee ballots were misplaced or never counted, and provisional ballots were discarded in violation of election rules. Voting machines were disproportionately distributed to create long lines in Democratic districts. And the disconnect between the exit polls and the "reported" vote – a prime source of speculation that the Ukrainian vote had been tampered with – was so bad in our own country that many statisticians have placed the odds that this disconnect occurred by chance in the billions (or even trillions) to one. Compared with those odds, buying a PowerBall ticket would seem a safe investment.

In the face of this overwhelming evidence of U.S. election fraud, our leaders' concerned comments about the Ukrainian election seem misdirected and distractingly self-serving. I sincerely hope that the American people will become aware and resolute enough to re-import a love of democracy -- and an understanding of the necessity of free and fair elections as democracy's foundation -- from the Ukrainian people, whose brave actions have placed a spotlight on our own inattention to the obvious election theft in our country.

And while we're at it, I hope that we can also re-import from the Ukrainians the wisdom and the courage to change the things that now threaten democracy in the United States, while we still can.

Step 2.

Open up your e-mail box to send an e-mail. There are instructions below. I have found that using the Bcc box for the bulk of the addresses is effective.

Now copy a segment of e-mail addresses out of the ones below and send them. Play around with it. Just grab a bunch of these addresses and mail em'. When you mail them make a copy in your "draft" or "sent" folder and then remail that sent item with new addresses. You won't have to recreate an e-mail for each mailing.
It feels good to see the message sent box with all of the those addresses. Better yet put these in an address folder on your e-mail and use them for any topic in the future.

We just may be able to force the Election Fraud issue into the MSM.

What we originally envisioned for this post was to use it to manage the process of getting the word out that the statistics show that something is very wrong and it desparately needs to be investigated.

But reality set it, people come in and out at all times of the day. And just the confines of how you post and how you can't amend make it very difficult.

So, to make it work, this site must now serve these purposes:
1. A place to drop your ideas, sources,tools in and try to post in an organized fashion under the proper headings. That way everyone can come in and find what they need to communicate.
2. A place that is SELF SERVICE and if you find ideas on other posts, feel free to copy them in.

1. That he won with 51% ands the latest Harris poll shows him with a 49% approval.

2. That his vote tallies could exceed his exit poll percentage in FL by 4%. Based on 2846 individuals exit polled, the polling margin of error was 1.84%.
The odds of this occurrence: 1 out of 1667.

3. That his vote tallies could exceed his exit poll percentage in OH by 3%. Based on 1963 individuals exit polled, the polling margin of error was 2.21%.
The odds of this occurrence: 1 out of 333.

2. That his vote tallies could exceed his exit poll percentages in 41 out of 51 states.
The odds of this occurrence: 1 out of 135,000.

5. That his vote tallies could exceed the margin of error in 16 states. Not one state vote tally exceeded the MOE for Kerry.
The odds of this occurrence: 1 out of 13.5 trillion.

6. That his vote tallies could exceed a 2% exit poll margin of error in 23 states.

10. That the exit polls were WRONG...

11- That Zogby's 5pm election day calls for Kerry winning OH, FL were WRONG. He was exactly RIGHT in his 2000 final poll.

12 That Harris last minute polling for Kerry was WRONG. He was exactly RIGHT in his 2000 final poll.

13- The Incumbent Rule I (that undecideds break for the challenger) was WRONG.

14- The 50% Rule was WRONG (that an incumbent doesn't do better than his final polling)

15- The Approval Rating Rule was WRONG (that an incumbent with less than 50% approval will most likely lose the election)

16- That Greg Palast was WRONG when he said that even before the election, 1 million votes were stolen from Kerry. He was the ONLY reporter to break the fact that 90,000 Florida blacks were disenfranchised in 2000.

17- That it was just a COINCIDENCE that the exit polls were CORRECT where there WAS a PAPER TRAIL and INCORRECT (+5% for Bush) where there was NO PAPER TRAIL.

18- That the surge in new young voters had NO positive effect for Kerry.

19- That Bush BEAT 99-1 mathematical odds in winning the election.

20- That Kerry did WORSE than Gore against an opponent who LOST the support of SCORES of Republican newspapers who were for Bush in 2000.

21- That Bush did better than an 18 national poll average which showed him tied with Kerry at 47. In other words, Bush got 80% of the undecided vote to end up with a 51-48 majority - when ALL professional pollsters agree that the undecided vote ALWAYS goes to the challenger.

22- That Voting machines made by Republicans with no paper trail and with no software publication, which have been proven by thousands of computer scientists to be vulnerable in scores of ways, were NOT tampered with in this election.

To believe that Bush won the election, you must also believe:

23. That people who voted for Bush were not anxious to speak to exit pollsters in the states that Bush had to win (like Florida and Ohio) where the exit polls were off, but wanted to be polled in states that he had sewn up (like Arizona, Louisiana and Arkansas) where the exit polls were exactly correct.

24. That Democrats who voted for Kerry were very anxious to be exit-polled, especially in Florida and Ohio. That accounts for the discrepancy between the exit polls and the actual votes in these two critical states.

25. That women were much more likely to be polled early in the day in Florida and Ohio. That is another reason why the exit polls were wrong in those states. In those states in which the exit polls were correct to within one percent, women did not come out early.

26. That the University of Pennsylvania Professor (trained at MIT) who calculated the probability of Bush gaining votes beyond the exit polling margin of error as ONE out of 250 million, does not have any credibility.

27. That network newscasters who claim that those who consider the possibility of fraud are just wild conspiracy theorists do not have an agenda.

28. That it is just a coincidence that only since the 2000 presidential election have exit polls failed to agree with the actual vote - and that Bush won both disputed elections.

29. That exit polls are not to be trusted in the United States, even though they are used throughout the world to monitor elections for fraud.

30. That even though more votes were cast than there were eligible voters in many precincts of critical states, it is not an issue that needs to be covered in the media.

31. That the absence of a paper ballot trail for touch screen computers does not encourage fraud, even though they have been proven by hundreds of computer experts to be highly vulnerable to fraudulent attack.

32 That statistical tests which indicate a high probability of fraud are just conspiratorial junk science.
